HFC are not accepting liability for the PPI, but goodwill gesture agreed of premiums paid (from 2003 to 2006) of £1246, Balancing premium refund for early settlement £587 and interest @8%, grand total £2604.

Really big thank you to all who helped and contributed, really appreciated.
Would never have done it without Martin and all on here.

To any one thinking thinking this a major hassle, this has taken 2 letters, filled in 1 questionaire, and my SAR request has not yet been processed.

Dont give up, keep the pressure on, and good luck to all.

Bottle of wine tonight me thinks!!

    Congratulations, enjoy your wine!

  • Hi guys

Havnt posted for ages (not been well)

I had to cases which were declined one with halifax, and one with hsbc which covered a credit card and flexi loan, both i referred to fos.

The fos declined my halifax card saying they thought even if i was given all details about pol thye think i would have taken it as had £25,000 death benefit, I have written back and asked them to look again as i got £50,00 death in service with employer

On the HSBC one, fos have called me 3 times in last week to ask questions, a strange one being if the PPI was optional would I have taken it ( almost felt a rick question, as that why i contacted them)

They have confirmed they asked me a lot of questions as HSBC have not been able to provide any documentation regarding the sale, other than a booklet they claims would have been sent at time pol sold, and highlighted my cancellation rights.

Does anyone know if it goes in my favour HSBC havnt been able to supply any docs, i cant see how FOS could go with HSBC without any evidence, I know i havnt got any other than PPI was on pols.

Also is it likely HALIFAX would back down with my new evidence

    Any help be appreciated

    thanks

    Hi Warren

sorry to hear you've not been well and hope your feeling better now.

If you have more evidence to prove than the bank its possible it will be awarded in your favour.

Wishing you luck, please keep us posted.;)

    Hi and welcome

If the broker have gone into liquidation you could try to make a reclaim through the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS), give them a ring, many of us have had to go that direction that have been in the same position.
    FSCS here:

    Good luck.
