    Please help!

I made a complaint to HSBC 6 months a go that I believe I had been miss sold PPI on four grounds.

Although they informed me every month they were looking into my compliant I only received a proactive response today. They said...

"while I do not accept the allegations you have set out, on this occasion I am prepared to settle your complaint, without any admission of liability".

    They offered PPI Paid £2,846 + Interest @ 8% £1,070 = £3,916 total refund.

I am really pleased with the offer. However, I do believe they are liable for miss selling me PPI and I do have good grounds to think so. Should I respond and state this and tell them I want to be compensated or should I just take the refund offered?

Does anyone know the average percentage of compensation being offered? It may not be worth claiming. Who knows? I'm here to find out.

Anyone's input, feedback or opinion is greatly appreciated. :0)

    Thanks!
Well done on your win :j
It doesnt matter if they accept they mis sold you the ppi or not, you got full recompense for your ppi.Think it is only in certain circumstances where you may be offered compensation. ( if it goes through fos and you have been waiting a long time etc) I would accept this offer as you got all back that you paid, and an extra 8% on top.

ONE phone call to NORTHERN ROCK saw a refund of all PPI charges PLUS over £600 in interest @ 8 %. Overall debt reduced by apx 7K thanks to just ONE phone CALL. (made 2 weeks ago) We were prepared to go all the way -letter bombardment, Ombusman threats etc-but none of it was needed!
If you have any doubt that you were mis sold PPI- GO ahead and CLAIM. Remember the one overwhelming thing on your side: IF you had been aware of PPI and all its implications-YOU would have had to have been insane to agree to it!
    :j:j WELL DONE :money:

  • I am new to the forums but would just like to thank everyone who posts on here for their help and inspiration that I have received by reading the posts. I decided to have a go at reclaiming PPIs with Bank of Scotland, Northern Rock, Alliance & Leicester and Natwest. I sent off the questionnaire and a covering letter and have received an acknowledgement from all of them saying that they will look into the claims. Today in the post I have received a letter from the Bank of Scotland saying that in the next 10 days I will receive a cheque for £2736.16!!!!! WOW! Just waiting for the other 3 to reply now and I can't believe the result I got and it only cost me the postage! Thanks to everyone on this site, will keep you updated on the others

  • What were you reclaiming: 2 x personal Loan Protection insurance policies.
    Who was the provider:Loyds TSB
How much did you get back: £2995 plus a £300 reduction of the loan amount.
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:I wrote to Lloyds, they refused, i went to the ombudsman, and eventually Lloyds changed their mind and payed out.

Finally all went through today, got £2995 plus i got my loan amount reduced by £300.

Lloyds Initially claimed the policies were not mis-sold, i went to the ombudsman, the adjudicator said they were and recomended Lloyds pay up, and they did!!!

Only cost me the press of 2 or 3 letters in total, very easy to do, i recommend everyone thinking about it, just do it, you have nothing but the cost of a stamp to lose!!!

Thank you to everyone on here who has helped, Thank you all so much!!:A

I have now, today cleared off my largest loan, and cleared off my credit card, and still have a few hundred ££££ spare.

I may book a nice little winter getaway with the money left.:j
