I received a letter saying I would receive my money within 21 days but we r now 2 weeks past the 21 day period and we've had nothing. When I called them they said they were running behind but couldn't tell me how far behind they were!!!!!
Have you experienced this? They said they haven't even done the calculations for ours yet!
Thanks & Well done to you!
Alyson xx
Hi Alyson,
I got a letter in June saying that they would refund me and would take 21 days to sort the calculations.
Got the letter from them on 14th September, more than 21 days I waited, when I phoned them, they kept saying they were behind....
Hang in there xxxxxx0 -

Please help!
I made a complaint to HSBC 6 months a go that I believe I had been miss sold PPI on four grounds.
Although they informed me every month they were looking into my compliant I only received a proactive response today. They said...
"while I do not accept the allegations you have set out, on this occasion I am prepared to settle your complaint, without any admission of liability".
They offered PPI Paid £2,846 + Interest @ 8% £1,070 = £3,916 total refund.
I am really pleased with the offer. However, I do believe they are liable for miss selling me PPI and I do have good grounds to think so. Should I respond and state this and tell them I want to be compensated or should I just take the refund offered?
Does anyone know the average percentage of compensation being offered? It may not be worth claiming. Who knows? I'm here to find out.
Anyone's input, feedback or opinion is greatly appreciated. :0)

Hi and welcome
Any idea how much difference it would be at all with the offer and the amount you actually paid in to the account of ppi?
Some still offer the full amount as an offer and take no liability, if the amount is not much difference then me personally would accept the refund, but its up to you of course.
Well done on your success though.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
ONE phone call to NORTHERN ROCK saw a refund of all PPI charges PLUS over £600 in interest @ 8 %. Overall debt reduced by apx 7K thanks to just ONE phone CALL. (made 2 weeks ago) We were prepared to go all the way -letter bombardment, Ombusman threats etc-but none of it was needed!
If you have any doubt that you were mis sold PPI- GO ahead and CLAIM. Remember the one overwhelming thing on your side: IF you had been aware of PPI and all its implications-YOU would have had to have been insane to agree to it!0 -

hi
i sent of my pound cheque to egg a few weeks back asking them to send me a copy of my original agreement. the account has been closed now for about 2 years. they have sent a letter back today saying as the account is now closed they are under no obligation to comply with a requested copy as we no longer have a contractual agreement .
the right to be provided with this information ended with the closure of the account.
can anyone confirm if this is correct?
I am not sure if i had ppi on this card which is why i wanted the agreement to check

Hi Hannah
Yes its about right if the account is closed, but if you request a SAR, they must by the Data protection Act (DPA) send everything else they hold on this account by 40 calendar days. So even if the agreement was not issued then everything else they hold on you will be.
However, for a SAR request you enclose the payment of £10 cheque or postal order, and there is a template letter for this here.....

This is up to you of course, but they may also confirm on the telephone if you were paying for ppi, if so and mis sold the policy you can still continue to make a reclaim and see what they come back with.;)

Good luck with this and post up for help when required anytime too. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0
