  • I wrote to Lloyds last week about PPI on a large personal loan (>£25k), following your advice and using the template and have just had a letter back offering me all of my premiums back with 8% interest on top, and then 8% up to the present day, this adds up to over £4k.

That's my credit card paid off, my overdraft paid off and a holiday into the bargain.

    Thank you!

    Hi Joe,

I had exactly the same thing with HFC bank, i think that hsbc and hfc are all part of the same company, anyway i got the letter aking for another 4 weeks and then yesterday which was exactly 28 days from the date of there letter requesting more time i got an offer from them.

Dont give up, and good luck
I'm having the exact same thing at the moment, just had another 28 days request myself.
  • What were you reclaiming: PPI Payment Protection Insurance
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: £1,000
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st Letter including questionnaire

Lloyds TSB agree to refund around £1,000 into my account and it only took 2 weeks, really surprised with how quick it was resolved! EVERYONE GO FOR IT!!!:money::money::j:money::j:money:

Also, Can someone please help with what I need to say to Egg to reclaim my PPI money. I applied on-line however I didn't know I had PPI, can someone provide me a template letter for how to get around the 'on-line' hurdle?

    Thanks in advance

    Congrats firstly!!!!
I am chasing a claim through the same bank and just wondered what the process was for you..I made the claim to the bak in Oct 09, went to FOS after 8 weeks and since then the bank have just not responded to the FOS and I was told last week that it will now go to the Ombudsman for final decision and this could take 3-4 months.......any advise on how long it took and what you did would be great x

    Hi estimator,

Mine was pretty much the same as yours. I thought I would be waiting on an ombudsman for a final decision but then out of the blue the bank agreed to pay. I did have to wait around 8 weeks for to be paid out but it was all worth it. The same thing happened with my next claim with them, it is running roughly around 4 weeks behind this one. They agreed to pay, I signed acceptance form and eight weeks later they paid up, the money was in my account the week before I got the letter from them!
I'm sure you will be successful with them;). Good Luck and thanks!

  • Hi everyone.

Im completely new this and dont know whether this is going in the right place but what the hay.
I sent the ppi letter from this website to Welcome Finance in april and after resending it a couple of times a got a letter dated 8th of july saying they would uphold my claim and made me an offer. Happy just to get something back i accepted the offer and was told it would take around three weeks to process it and then they would repay £2500!!.
I thought this was to good to be true and sure enough I still havent had my money. In the last 10 days I have spent nearly 5 hours on hold trying to get through to them and when i do they fob me off, they sent another offer letter for me to sign last week and i sent it back recorded, rang up this morning and they said they haven't opened the recorded mail yet!.

Anyway to cut a long story short I want to know if I can reclaim late payment charges that I have picked up whilst I have actually been in credit (due them admiting they misold the ppi)? I also want to know what I can do to hurry them up? its really begining to grate on me to the extent that I go to bed thinking about it!

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

    Hi there

    First of all well done.

I am not sure on the late charges side of it, but maybe get this done with first and deal with that later in case it messes the reclaim up, and maybe someone will know of your best action on this.

You could write a letter to the Manager of Welcome and explain your situation, I do not know the name of the manager but address it "To The Manager" and use the same address, unless anyone can clarify on the address to the Manager's office.

    Keep at them, good luck.;)

  • I had previously used template letters from the 'MoneySavingExpert' website and claimed back £1000 of bank charges. When I got the e-mail about reclaiming PPI I thought I may as well give it a try. I had taken out a loan for £25000 with Northern Rock and had specifically asked them not to include the payment protection. They insisted that without it I would not qualify for the loan so I took it out. I paid off the loan 18 months early and no longer had any of the details so I wrote to Northern Rock asking them to send a copy of my load agreement, which they did. I then filled out the complaint form which I took from this website and sent it back to them with a letter asking them to refund the PPI in full. I received a letter back to confirm they'd received the complaint and were looking into it. About 3 weeks later, I got another letter telling me that they agreed that i'd been mis sold the PPI and they'd refund it in full. It turned out though that i was due back more than i thought as they charge more of the PPI at the start of the loan when they consider themselves to be at more risk. I got back £5672 plus interest at 8% which gave me an extra £1200 on top! I couldn't believe how simple it was and all for the cost of a couple of stamps. Thank you so much Martin Lewis, you're a legend
