    Hi there

Sorry if I am being dim, but is there a template letter for writing to the bank to request refund of PPI (first contact), and should I attach the FOS questionnaire with this letter?? Just want to get this right.
    Thanks

Hiya and not your not being dim ;)

I believe that the FOS questionnaire replaced the first letter template on this site, but if you want to write your own cover letter to enclose with the questionnaire that is entirely up to you.

Hope this helps, good luck on your reclaiming, please keep us posted.
    Cheers.:)

  • Hi All, I checked my credit report and realised I had a MBNA cc that I opened in July 2000 and closed May 2004. I sent letter off using the template from MSE requesting the cc agreement and any montly ppi payments be listed and shown to me. I sent the letter beginning of May. I did not think I would have agreed to PPI but could not remember and thought for the price of a stamp give it a go. They used all sorts of delay tactics:mad: and 2 letters later and couple of phonecalls 4 months on (today) I called them they said they had sent me in the post a letter on 1st Sept (I have not received it!) and that they will be sending a cheque for £161! To me this means that they are confirming they misold me PPI. I asked them to send me a full breakdown as my balance at the highest was 9k lowest around 3k. Over four years I can't believe I only paid £161 in ppi. The lady I spoke to said that she has to pass me onto a different department who deals with PPI, Customer Advocate or something she said. They took my mobile and said someone would be calling. I'm hoping this will get settled quickly. I think they are hoping I will just take the £161. NOt on your NELLY! Will keep you posted to how I get on as from reading posts here I know this is one of their tricks. Thank you as without this forum I might not of taken it further. I am actively fighting my debt and this payout would mean I'm a lot closer to being debt free :j.

Good luck to all who are claiming back

  • Hi All,

I recently followed the tios on how to reclaim PPI for my partner. He was told from Barclays bank that he had to take the PPI to have the loan and it was not an option. After only two letters sent to Barclays they have replied saying they don't think he was missold PPI but as a gesture of good will they will refund this to the amount of £2700.00. This is enough to pay off the loan with a little extra. Total success we couldn't believe how easy this was to do.
