I reclaimes ppi from a loan through Liverpool Victoria that had already been paid off.
I sent them the letter on 25/10/07 and received a letter offering £5153.13. No fuss we just had to send the letter accepting this amount. The initial charges added to the loan amounted to £5644.08
The letter gives various figures but it appears when the loan was repayed earlier than expected we received a rebate of £871.96. That would have left us with £4772.13 that we had paid. It appears to me like they have given us an extra 381.06. Unbelievable and thankyou, because we have always been rubbish with money we have a few more ppis to recalaim.
Black Horse have told us to go to the financial ombudsman which I will do with the help of this site.
Letters sent so far to:
Tesco personal Finance
Black Horse
Liverpool Victoria: awaiting cheque
Nationwide builoding society
Lloyds TSB x 2
RIGP finance

I took out a 15000 loan back in january 2001 over 6 years, i did not realise how much money the ppi would cost me over the years so on September 21 using martins templates i sent a letter to HSBC on the 3rd October i received a reply saying they are looking into the complaint and will contact once it has been completed, on 25th October i received another letter saying they are still looking into the complaint and will contact me again in the next 4 weeks, the day later i received another letter stating even though there are 2 names on the loan the ppi can only be in one name and they put it in my husbands who is self employed, what use was this to us, anyway they said they would repay the remainder of my loan (this was up in March 2008) of £1990.89 and also make a payment into any chosen account of £2289.33 so all in all i got
£4280.22 not bad for one letter, i was absolutely gobsmacked, just in time for christmas. brilliant!!!!!!!

I took out a loan with First Plus which I only had for about 3 months and I had PPI because i thought I needed to. When i cleared the loan they charged me a lumpsum of £6000 which I was told I couldn't have back.
I have recently contacted them again and they have told me that as a gesture of goodwill they will give me £3700 but I don't think this is reasonable and am going to go back to them with a counter offer instead of going straight to the Ombudsmen. Has anyone else had any success with trying to negotiate with First Plus?0 -
Can't believe I am posting this, never sent a letter, took 3 weeks exactly from start to finish. Martin you are a STAR I called HSBC regarding my PPI on my loan stating that I only worked 10 hours a week when loan was taken out, they gave me abit of a hard time on the phone but I stuck to my guns. They sent me a letter saying they were lokking into it and Monday night received a call saying they were paying up, got letter today saying £2300.00 was being refunded to me, just need to sigh and send back accepting offer, just like that, I had no joy with Bank charges but this was very simple, no need for the FO, I think it was when I told them that I had my Contract of Employment that made them cave in, the lady was very helpful and I can't believe it. Thank you all so much for keeping me going and if I an offer anybody any help please ask. If it was not for Martin and this site I would not have known that this was possible. I am telling everyone at work to give it a go. God I am so happy. :j :money: :rotfl: :T

Well it is now the 14th November. Although I have had further letters from Lloyds TSB saying how it has all been settled I still HAVE NOT had the money. I really did want to say how good they had been over this matter but I'm starting to struggle. I have a letter dated 12/11/2007 that tells me it "will be credited to your loan account within the next 21 days". Twenty-one days!!!! What the hell is that all about???? They couldn't tell me the amount of the 'interest accrued' but I'm guessing they WILL add the amount that I'm waiting of the 21 days. Well? What do you think?0

I had a £5000, 5 year loan with GE Money 2 years ago which we recently paid off, i called them to ask about reclaiming my PPI, i was told to write a letter to them, which i did, within 3 weeks, i received a cheque for £652, the cheque came from GE money thru Secure homes as they were the company we paid our bills with, approximately 1 week later we received another cheque straight from GE money for £750 with a letter stating it was my PPI refund, i don't know whether this is a mistake on their part but i've put it in the bank anyway, so anyone out there who's thinking of reclaiming - Just do it, you've got nothing to lose, regards Chez0

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to your site, have just got back 1369 pounds from HSBC for back payment of my PPI with my personal loan.
I have just recently moved out to Australia and obviously my PPI doesn't cover me out here for my loan, so I used your template and wrote a letter to HSBC, as also when I took out my loan with them 18 mths ago I was told they would only give me the loan if I took out PPI. I now know it should be optional although I was forced to take this out with them!
So I sent them a letter and after about 8 wks have got 1369 British pounds paid back into my account, and restructured my existing loan to one without PPI. Fantastic as my monthly payment has been reduced by 74 pounds a month now!
I also got 700 pounds back in bank charges earlier on this year using your template letters from HSBC. Thank you sooo much!!
