:D got 1st reply from ge money today and they have made me an offer

Its a cr**p offer though:cool: the original ppi single payment that i made was £4050 in April 2005 it was for 5 years and doesn't run out till April 2010 but i paid off the associated loan in April 2007 so by my estimation i should be entitled to at least 3 years premiums and interest !! and what have ge money offered me ........£810.00

Can someone please advise me am i being naive expecting more should i just take what they are offering

Did you arrange your loan direct through GE Money or through a broker??

I have nothing to loose they say they are not willing to pay me direct therefore hyperthetically i wouldnt see the said refund I am not happy with that and I think they have tried to bully me by saying take this offer subject to me not complaining any further well its out of my hands now but i wish somebody with a bit of influence could show how this company operate my personal opinion is they offer everyone a 78% rebate to reel them in and it appears to work at least you have your money back and in your own pocket instead of theres I hope you enjoy it I dont know if anyone else has took the FOS route would be interested to see keep smiling had a different offer part off loan part to them direct so it seems to be how they feel at the time
if they win on the misselling side I know I have tried my best may be it will give them a warning that The general public are not going to put up with it The guy at the FOS was probably fed up of all the complaint coming in regarding first plus!!!!!

    AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

Not logged on for a day and find all these new First Plus posts. This thing is really doing my head in. In one way, i'm glad that i'm not alone in the way they are treating me, but in another i'm mad that they can cause so much stress to so many people's lives. Reading through these recent posts has made me decide to fight all the way for exactly what I want from them and I wont take any sort of peice offering. If they dont agree to refund me all of the ppi premium, then I'll fight them as far as I can!!!!
I am due a letter from them in the morning. This will be their "final response" to my complaint. I wonder what it will say?

    I'll keep you all posted.

What I really don't get is, FOS have said their is nothing they can do as the broker [creditlink] have ceased trading yet my contract is on GE Money headed paper.

Surely GE Money are liable and not the broker.

This is breaking my heart knowing I may be getting screwed out of £3200 :(

    Any advise would be tremendous.

    Hello everyone
this is my first time putting forward my info but have been a avid fan for 6 months.
i have sent a lot of letters to reclaim PPI but up to now no success.
FOS are now dealing with the following
    FIRST PLUS  APPROX 15,000
    NEMO:mad: APPROX 9,000

tried with credit cards as well but no success.
i dont know where I am going wrong.
Welcome Finance are saying even if we go to the FOS they will say no noting FOS rule DISP 3.3.1 (3) R on the grounds that it has not reasonable prospect of success.
has anyone else had this in a last response letter if so what did you do next.
I would be grateful for any feedback

PS just wanted to know what these figures mean on my Welcome agreement
and can I claim them back
    acceptance fee 235.00
    mortgage indemnity 1320.00

    xxx
still fighting for my money !!!
  • Hi all
advice needed ,sent first letter to firstplus, got normal bog off reply,
    sent second letter ,
recieved offer of £1030 to be paid off my loan if i cancel ppi., also recieved a cd containing original conversation re:loan.
After listening to it it appears they were correct in saying i agreed to ppi,However,
they just slipped in that the loan included ppi, even after i had informed them that i get upto 6 months on full payif sick.
they do not say how much the ppi costs just that it will be added to the loan amount and they do not mention that i would still be paying for it long after the 5 year cashback offer .
any help or advice would be welcome

    Just a quick question.

I sent letters to Evans and Debenhams(GE Money) regarding PPI.They have sent back stating that because the proctection was started and finished before January 2005 there is no chance of reclaiming the PPI on these.

Does anyone know if this is right or had one of these letters already?
What they are saying is that prior to January 2005 they didn't come under the jurisdiction of the Financial Ombudsman so you can't take your complaint for mis selling there - but you can start proceedings in the county court

for mis selling it's always the broker / agent who originally 'sold' you the ppi you have to after - if they've gone bust there's nothing you can do !
  • Then why did I sign an official GE Money document :(

If what you are saying is correct [and I don't doubt you] then this whole contract should be null and void. As I signed nothing from Creditlink.

Would legal action help me in any way

    Hi,
I'm having trouble getting my head around an agreement we had with Blackhorse. I have posted the details below. I cannot get a copy of the actual settlement figure and how this was broken down, just the statement. I realise that the opening balance is the loan amount plus ppi amount (not inc interest).
What I need to know is how much to ask for through the court?
Do I include the interest added by Blackhorse (£606.63) as this doesn't appear on the opening balance and doesn't seem to be reflected in the final repayment.
Also how do I work out the 8% interest for the court?
Can I use the calculator on this website and enter it as if I'd paid 48 payments over 48 months?

I hope someone can help me with this as I am on the verge of giving up, it's all getting too confusing.

    Thanx

    Hi

I wrote to HSBC 4 weeks ago, they have replied with a letter saying they need to investigate further (another 4 weeks) and will get back to me.

Is this normal? Do they do this just to stall for a bit?

    anyone else claimed from HSBC?

    x

I am in the same position as you, just a little further along. I had the same reply to my first letter, and they did reply twice more, once saying it may take a little longer, and then the final letter saying they believe it wasn't mis-sold. I then sent second letter on the 16th Jan giving them 14 days to reply. I'm still waiting!  Did not know what to do next, but gave it some thought and decided to refer matter to the FSO, which I'm posting today!

Fingers crossed! From reading various posts on here it seems to be luck of the draw, some people seems to be refunded with relative easy, others have to go the whole way to the FSO! Personally I don't mind as long as I get my money back!

Good luck to you, keep us all posted.
