  • Hi, does anyone knows if I can claim refund or payments on my barclaycard? I've been paying PPI for many years knowingly. But due to getting pregnant, giving birth I could not get back to my job, so been unemployed for about 1 year now and now I am expecting a second child so wont be able to go back to work for another year or so. I have not claimed anything yet.
  • Hi everyone,

I'm about to send my first letter to WFS and was just wondering if anyone else has had any luck with them. I'm guessing I need to send it to head office but I'm not really sure the exact amount to claim as the agreement is a little complicated. It's got insurances, credit for insurances, option fees, acceptance fees and shortfall extra insurance

Any advice would be much appreciated

Anyone had any success with reclaiming PPI from Egg for a loan, on the basis of mis-selling?

I have just sent off my letter to Egg. I was mis-sold as was told I wouldn't get the loan without the PPI. The loans (2x) to which the PPI was added have both been paid off now.

Anyone in same situation who did get the money refunded?

I'm in the middle of doing WFS 1st letter sent to branch recorded and ignored. copy sent to head office and igot a reply saying they would pass to local office also ignored (been 8 weeks now). I have now written to head office again advising i am not happy with no response and also sent a SAR to them for statememnts loan applications etc. I am in the maybe lucky position of having a letter from my local branch manager dated august 2005 stateing that even although he is aware that i have comprahensive benefits from my employer as well as a seperate income protection plan that PPI is an integral part of obtaining a loan with them :D:D That has also been confirmed by 3 diffrent employees verbally one during a supposadly recorded phone call.

It wasn't until i watched Martin on TV that i realised the git was lying so I am taking them for every single penny I just need them to say bog off so i can go to the FOS.

That does sound lucky. I'm going down the general mis-selling path. So fingers crossed, although I still cant work out exactly how much I'm claiming for
Let me know how you get on
  • Hiya

I have tried pursuing claims with the Nationwide and the Alliance & Leicester, both through the general miss-selling route of pushy advisors etc, but they have both basically told me to get on my bike, not a cat in hell's chance, go to the FOS 'cos they don't care etc etc. But there seem to be so many success stories for these two institutions. So what am I doing wrong? Are there some magic words I need to put in my letters?

My partner took out a loan for £16k over the phone. She was sent an 'Insurance sales acknowledgement slip' which she signed and returned. HSBC state that no advice was offered by them but she received a product information pack. They are saying that she was therefore made aware of what the features of the PPI were.
When I explained to her that she didn't need PPI because she has a lot of shares, gets an annual bonus of around £10k, if made redundant would get about 4 times+ the amount owed. She also has 12 month sickness cover. She was shocked and felt she had not been informed of this.
HSBC replied saying she was made aware through the product pack so they wouldn't refund. They also stated, quite contradictingly, that the sales staff receive extensive training with regards to HSBC products. So why didn't they advise her on the fact she didn't need the PPI and just sent a product pack. My partner is not a qualified financial person.
The bank has said if we are not happy go to the FO, but I have sent them the second 14 to reassess letter.
So do we have a leg to stand on???
