The £1865.91 amount, is the amount with no interest do you think I should pursue this amount as well? Or should I just take the first offer? Thios is with alliance and leicester by the way0 -

Had a loan from First Plus arranged through Ocean Finance in 2001 so more than 6 years ago. Loan was £35000 and PPI about ££6000. PPI box was ticked by Ocean Finance after a telephone discussion, but we did not really want it but felt we had no choice. After paying £550 per month until May 2003 we settled the loan at over £41000, so hadn't paid anything back at all in over 2 years. First Plus simply said it was Oceans Fault and visa versa. Wrote to Ombudsman but they say FP not covered until 2005.We believe we were missold but also that we were charged full amount of PPI plus interest for only 2 years "cover". when we settled. Not sure where to go next, can anyone help?
have you tried contacting FSA or FSO about this I would see what they say go onto their websites I am sure you could get them on the mis representation
We believe that the single premium policy sold to us essentially induced us as 'a reasonable people' to borrow more money, rather than simply pay a monthly fee for insurance. We also believe that it should have been made clear to us the said policy generated huge profits for First Plus at our expense. You failed to do so and in have failed in your "Duty of Disclosure" to us. As insurance contracts are basically Contracts Uberrimae Fidei (contracts of utmost good faith) which imposes a duty of disclosure of all material facts because one party, First Plus in this case, is in a strong position to know the truth. Your failure to disclose these facts to us is Negligent Misrepresentation under the Misrepresentation Act 1967 and as such under case law, the onus us upon you to prove otherwise.
hope this helps

Hi, Could anyone please advise if you have been through similar.
We took out a secured loan almost 3 year ago with Black Horse, we didn't require PPI but when we received paperwork through the post, PPI had been added to the agreement as an extra £41 per month. We signed the agreement but didn't tick the PPI box or sign for it. 2 days later we received the paperwork back with the signature box for PPI highlighted, after ringing the office we were informed that the PPI was a condition of the loan at that interest rate so as we needed the money we signed.
I am now trying to claim due to mis-selling, i sent my first letter, to which they replied we had signed the agreement, we need to prove mis-selling, 30 days had expired...... usual blurb. Anyway, they enclosed the original agreement which showed our signatures but we had never ticked the box which agreed to purchase PPI and the signature strip states "we agree to purchase the PPi as ticked in the above box ..........."
Would you assume that the PPI policy is void as we didn't tick the box ?
Also, I did cancel the PPI as they suggested in their reply letter but the payments will only reduce by around £20 when i have been paying £41, he waffled on about it being a single premium policy, i am currently waiting for an explanation in writing.
Could anyone please help ????0 -

Hi
I would write to them (black horse) asking for the phone calls you made and they made concerning this or send a SAR letter with 10pds postal order (recorded delivery)
I would ring the FSA and ask them if the conditions of the loan are acceptable.
hope this helps

Hi
I would appreciate any help anybody has to offer - we took out two loans with IGroup (through Easy Loans) towrads the end of 2003 - the loans were subsequently paid off a matter of months later in 2004. Obviously I have just come across this so have sent a letter off to GE Money asking for a rebate on the PPI - I have spoken to them today and they say I am only entitled to a refund from the date they received my letter not 2004 when the loans were paid offSurely that cant be right, when we paid the loans off we assumed that the PPI was also paid off - it was a fixed sum amount and we therefore thought it would be cancelled - I have just been advised that we could have claimed up until last week but how could we have done when we didnt know we had the insurance and the loans were paid off
Also, sent a letter to Easy Loans on the same date stating that we had been mis-sold the policies as my husband has a pre-existing medical condition that the PPI would not pay for etc etc . Also phoned them today and couldnt speak to the lady I had to write to but apparently my letter was on her desk and it was going to a different departement that looks at complaints etc etc
Have we got any chance of getting our money back? Any help much appreciated.

Hi, we are self employed and in the process of claiming back PPI premiums, we have been told that we would have been covered for INVOLUNTARY UNEMPLOYMENT but cannot see how we would ever been able to make a valid claim and are finding it very difficult to get an exact definition of that phrase. Any imput would be most welcome.0

Im a bit confused (doesn't take much), can you claim to PPI back once it has been cancelled? Basically most of our creditors stopped the PPI themselves once we went into our DMP.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160
