  • I am claiming PPI from Halifax, re a personal loan.

Took the loan out in 2004 and was told because of my age (21) and the amount I was borrowing I had to have the PPI. I have just 2 payments remaining on the loan.

I sent the 1st template letter off to Halifax on 3rd January, they replied immediately stating I would get a response by 3rd February. Letter received 3rd February stating they are still investigating but will here no later than 28th February....

So I am waiting and will advise...
  • Just wondering if anyone has had any success with Picture yet, I know a few people have been claiming from them in the past.

On another note how can Picture get away with increasing interest rates when they go up and not decreasing them when they go down, there have been 2 recent decreases and no change in rate. When rates went up a letter was forthcoming within 5 days.
  • go to the 'first plus again ' thread......they are the same but apparantly i'm being told by others......'you took the loan out as variable so why are you moaning'

  • hi,
havent seen barclaycard mentioned anywhere and ive scanned a fair few pages. could anyone tell me if i can claim against them, i know i have been paying ppi as i have my statements from when i claimed the cc charges

what im not sure about is
1)when i opened the account, it may have been upto 10/12 years ago
2)whether i opened it in person at a bank,or just with an application form
    3)if i was asked/informed about ppi,
obviously if i dont know these things i have no proof?

i suffer from epilepsy so would that be a factor, also in full-time employment

    any help would be appriciated

    thanks

Actually posted this a week ago, with no replies. is there anyone that can give an answer please

    thanks

  • I have received two CCAs where the Banks have automatically ticked the '1 Year PPI Cover' on my credit cards, but they have continued to charge for the next 6 years. I can't recall ever being asked whether I wanted to renew. Think I sense another letter coming on!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

What I really don't get is, FOS have said their is nothing they can do as the broker [creditlink] have ceased trading yet my contract is on GE Money headed paper.

Surely GE Money are liable and not the broker.

This is breaking my heart knowing I may be getting screwed out of £3200 :(

    Any advise would be tremendous.

tiggrae...used the above in my 3rd letter, and got this response on Sat am.......

We note that you have expressed your further dissatisfaction at our final response.
It is your belief that we should keep all written records for 6 years for Corporation , Tax and VAT purposes, we do NOT in fact have to keep actual credit agreements for this purpose.
At the time your loan completed it was our company policy to keep documentation for 3 years.
This is supported by FSA guidelines introduced on 15th January 2005.
The lender is required to keep documentation for 6 years after the agreement with the customer ends.
The points raised in my previous correspondence still stand and Freedom Finance are of the belief that the policy was sold in good faith and therefore reiterate that we are unable to uphold your complaint.....
    Yours sincerely
    Compliance Officer.
    Please ....what 's next step???
Any expert help would be hugely appreciated :money:
