I didn't - I have one in an old mifi as a quasi-emergency spare and other in a drawer. I'm actually thinking of cancelling both as they're linked to my Amex for overages (even with autotop switched off).

I've ordered an ID Mobile sim as they are offering 250mins, various texts and 1GB for £5 again.

I did. After the application I was offered another free SIM too. I already have two. I can't see it lasting long if their other customers are free-loaders like me. :rotfl:

Does anyone have any comments on the application update a few days ago?

Somewhere between awful and impossible, would be my opinion. Maybe it is better on other phones.

It doesn't seem to have been a significant update on android (I can't see any difference). Looking at the Android change log it only seems to have been bug fixes.

What phone are you referring to?

You can downgrade the service to the free option (I don't recall the precise clicks to do it).

The service has mixed reviews, as it runs over data and some people get poor performance.

I've got one in a spare phone, but I have to say I haven't particularly used it.

There's a lot of discussion at https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5239775 , including similar offers.
  • they've just added totally free activation so its costs nowt for the first month at all
  • they've just introduced a limited time offer: Free sim, free activation first month free, on the back of that I'm gonna give them a go but stay will EE for the duration of my trial if that makes sense
  • they've just added totally free activation so its costs nowt for the first month at all

there was some discussion on a company called ovivo that did something similar but went bust

I think they have been always introducing this, at least repeatedly if not continuously.
