Ordered 2 last night, got a bonus 500MB with 1000 minute plan with first month free, free delivery, free sim
Second sim was less minutes but again free delivery, free month, free sim.
I will just downgrade them and throw them in my sim box for use when needed as backupSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Take a look at my experience posted just above yours
I think there's a slight catch
If you downgrade early your plan downgrades to 200 calls and 200 mb
If while you were on the 1000mb plan you exceeded 200 calls/text/mb they will count as excess and you will be charged
That happened to me having downgraded after a week
Apparently it 's showing that I used 700mb when I hardly did anything online. Most of that was downloading their 3 apps
There is nothing there to say at what point you must downgrade without it reverting to the 200mb plan and charging you the excess
If you go over the trial period without downgrading you go onto another month at £8.99
That looks like an unavoidable catch to me
I have written to them about this and will let you know on here if the will let me off the hookIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -

The downgrade happens immediately. You would have been on the 200 plan after your first week.
I downgraded a few days before my billing date and wasn't charged anything, despite using more than 200MBytes during the first month.
I tend to only use data and have found FreedomPop excellent.
IIRC correctly I've made two voice calls, which went via WiFi. The quality was okay.
For me, their usage calculations appear to be accurate.0 -
Wow this all makes Ovivo look like a model of simplicity and transparency by comparison. RIP Ovivo.0

I had the freedompop app and there was a usage calculator which hardly ever changed. I was believing wrongly that my usage was very low. It was only when I went online to revert to the free 200mb plan that my usage became clear
Anyway, Since I was on a trial and downgraded early I didn't expect that I'd be charged
That wasn't made clear enough
My so called data usage has to be wrong anyway
I only downloaded their 3 apps and hardly any browsing. Then for good measure I turned off mobile data on my phone and only use wifi
I can't see how my small amount of usage before switching off mobile data could have amounted to 700mb
They must have been counting my wifi time as well
I didn't want it for data anyway. Only calls and text
I wish I'd never bothered.
I'm going to complain very strongly and hope I wont be charged
If I am I'll never use them again and advise anyone who wants to try them to proceed with cautionIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -

I would have to agree, at least Ovivo were honest and upfront about their exact business model (and allowed all phone calls a normal phone provider would).
I don't want to use the shyster term for FreedomPop, but it is starting to pop into my thoughts...====0 -
So, how do you join their forum?
Chrome: The first key press anywhere in the signup form jumps the page to another site with adverts.
I.E.: None of the form entry boxes will accept any text.
Seems like they have made it as difficult as possible.
Some time later...
EDIT: Seems like the only way to sign up for their forum is to use a text editor (such as Wordpad), type all the information in there, and then cut and paste each item one at a time into the web form, taking care to right-click each form box before clicking 'paste' - a left click shoots the web page off to another site with adverts meaning you have to start again. It took me four attempts.
Once you sign up for the forum, someone has to hand-approve your application.
Once you post something on the forum, someone has to hand-approve your post.0 -

Worried about unhappy posts and in maximum damage control mode?====0 -
I am ordering a sim with the most basic free package without any free trials.
£7 for activation and shipping is a little over the top, but I can live with this.
However, on the payment page it says:Your subscription includes a 30-day free service trial. At the conclusion of your free trial, your service will automatically renew at the rate provided. You also authorize FreedomPop to charge £1.99 every month for continued service.
What am I missing or doing wrong?0 -

No I don't wan and free service trial, don't want to authorise them to charge me.

Did you forget to remove the tick from the Premium Voice Trial box on the left? Freedompop have a habit of subbing punters in to things:
If you only want the free data you might consider this option from Three. A tenner for 1GByte of data to use during the first 30 days, then 200MBytes free every month. Calls, text and extra data charged at 3-2-1 rates.0
