If I use a Supercard in an overseas ATM, is my credit card charged as a purchase or a cash advance?

Doesn't seem to say anywhere on the Supercard website.

What brilliant logic. They went through the enormous amount of work required to build financial software to dynamically link bank cards on the fly to a prepaid card, and will provide an ongoing service to the people using it, just so they can get a list of names and email addresses.

I take it you're some kind of expert financial analyst with such deep insight?

Financially savvy I would say - was doing a lot of the things Martin champions a long time before he got on the bank wagon. Also seen Martin mess up basic maths on the telly - so he is no great financial expert either!

It wasn't necessary to add bank account details in order to receive the card.
That renders the card pretty useless then! How are you going to make any purchases without linking an account in some way!

The biggest concern I have with this is, you lot are all trusting Travelex with free reign to your bank account/credit card! No institution is 100% perfect and mistakes will happen - I wonder how forthcoming they will be with rectifying the mistakes quickly!

Also, how long will it be before the credit card companies get wise to it, and treat their transactions as cash advances and therefore subject them to fees, like they do with foreign currency purchases!

So you see yourself as financially savvy, yet still think they went through all this just to harvest some data?

I never managed to register yesterday (or so I thought) but I just had an email saying my card is on its way.

    Let's see what turns up.

What happens in the event of a disputed transaction with a Supercard, do you know? A chargeback? Do you know?
I'm sure we'll find out in due course.

Clearly horses for courses. I find the prospect of loyalty points/cashback on foreign spend interesting.

Same here. I never got past the "Security" section.

I'll believe it when I see it.

After accidentally managing to register for two cards on separate email addresses I emailed them to say I don't need two, I was just trying to up my chances of getting one using two different devices, and that they could cancel one. They replied to saying "we can confirm your registration was successful and your Supercard will be posted within 7 days".

I've then had a second email to one of the accounts this evening saying my registration was a success (I haven't even tried to register today). At this rate I'll need a new wallet to keep all my Supercards in!

I doubt that you will be the only one.

You think they gathered your phone number, bundled it with others, sold it to a company and then that company used it all within the space of a few hours?
Yes they can. It happened to me recently with an offer on this very same site. I love this forum but I'm careful when using referrers from this site.
