    How do you know?
When you try to sign up on the app it says they are not taking any more applications.

I just joined as I wanted to say a massive thank you to MSE.

Thank you, for ruining what would have been a very useful product for frequent travellers, who registered for the program 3 months ago.
Hi bma1, and welcome to MSE!
Are you sure that you are directing your anger at the right people?
Seems to me that Travelex came to MSE in order to obtain free publicity and (perhaps more importantly) endorsement from Mr Lewis.
Perhaps Travelux did not have enough pre registered names to make this work, we will never know. But I suggest you turn your fire on Travelex.
FWIW I finally got to the final screen after 3 hours yesterday, so I venture to suggest that had you been determined you too would have a card on its way

  • I tried finding the app on my Android tablet, and it wasn't there.. I used the browser to access the link on the MSE email, and it appeared, but says my device is not compatible. I tried my other tablet - same.
It did install on my phone, so it seems that it must want my identity and call information - maybe they want to introduce a SIM card to get cash off users? The registration also asked "what type of holidays" and "how much I use my phone", so they may be teaming up with a phone provider, or want to spam us with 'localised' adverts..

The android app wont install on an android tablet yet the apple app will install on an ipad.

There is nothing to stop you uninstalling the app(s) once you have singed up.

I'm not convinced. I know somebody who wasted 8 hours repeatedly hitting "Submit" only to be told every time that something had gone wrong or their internet connection had failed etc. They only gave up when the thing locked up completely and refused to do anything.
  • I fluked a successful application yesterday, and have the email to say the card is on its way to me. I''m off to Sunny Spain on the 25th May, does anybody have an idea if I'll get my card intime or shall I back up with some currency?

Given it was only 'launched' yesterday, your guess is as good as anyones as to when the card will actually arrive :)

Personally I would have a backup plan.
  • I got almost to the end of registration yesterday (13th) at first attempt but crashed out. Tried again several times and crashed each time in different sections but I got an email saying my card is on its way!

I downloaded the app yesterday at about 7.30am after reading MSE's email and tried registering on and off all day. Finally succeeded at about 9pm and think myself lucky. At one point I managed to register just my email address and was told they'd email me. However I perservered and finally managed to register all my details. I then got an email telling me my card was on its way. Sympathies to those who failed to be as persistant - or as lucky.

Would be very foolish not to have an alternative source of cash.

I have a Norwich & Peterborough Gold debit card which is fee free from foreign ATMs - is the Travelex Supercard any better ?
