    Has anyone managed to order one in the last few days? I've been trying but the website says : "We are experiencing significant demand at present. Please check back later. "


    I'm going to Croatia next month and it would come handy... (I normally use a NW with no fees but I can't use ATMs).

    I just got an email yesterday - despite the final submit never seemed to complete in the application.

    I managed to get the app installed fine and answered the questions then got the email to say
    "As you know, during the pilot period, supply of Supercards is extremely limited. We’re currently working our way through long lists to get Supercards out to as many people as possible. Unfortunately this means that we aren’t able to get a card to you right now, but we will keep in touch about Supercard and to let you know when cards come available."

    From reading the forums and facebook comments, many people applied long after me and were successful so not sure what criteria was being used to choose who got and who didn't

    Maybe 3-4 times per year travelling (abroad) was too much or was it not enough?

    I suspect they prefer people who use their phones a lot, so the app can find out more about the user (and maybe spam their contacts, too). They don't really need an app with access to your phone, etc. to manage the card online..

    It's obviously possible to set it up to use a PC to manage the card but that's clearly impractical for most people whilst they're abroad. Also, with IOS at least, you have to give every app permission to access areas of your phone (i.e photos, location services, contacts). I think that you're reading far too much into this.

    I used the app yesterday, after receiving an email from them, and was able to apply. It now says the card is in the post.

    Thats the only way to apply (when it isnt overloaded and is accepting new signups).
  • A quick scan of previous posts tells me that all sorts of random stuff is going on? I actually managed to download the app(Android);and,with much persistance,complete the application...I think? And I have received the 'on its way' email. Very unconvinced it will actually arrive, and even less convinced it will actually work!
    From my POV, there is no way it will stay free for long, it simply dont compute.Their given reason is to build a data base? Well, 25k aint much of a base. And,as someone has already pointed out,it will take no time at all for the other financial institutions to spot the traffic,and load a transaction charge?
    But,my main concern,is how Travelex have 'managed' the launch. I'm sorry,but net based financial tools are mature these days,and generally smooth and flaw free. Yes,its a new product,but thats no excuse for the miss mash that we've all experienced. It does not bode well for the immediate future. They claim overload.....well how many transactions does your average Bank, eBay, PayPay, Amazon etc deal with per hour? And, after trying for two days, I've still not managed to log into the app with my password!
    Travelex, you need to shape up...and fast, or this thing is dead in the water. Personally, I really hope it comes good. But, having taken one brave step forward, you've already taken six steps back!

    As you are aware, this week welaunched our first digital product, Supercard, in the UK so we wanted to giveyou a quick update on how the launch has gone. Interest in Supercard on itslaunch day was amazing - far outstripping anyone’s expectations. We are humbledand delighted that so many people are interested in this effortless new way tosave money when travelling. Thank you to everyone who shared Supercard withtheir friends and family. We were also supported by Money Saving Expert, whowere given the exclusive first rights to announce that our Supercard pilot hadlaunched. As part of this agreement Martin Lewis wrote about Supercard inhis email newsletter which is sent to millions of people across this UK.Because of this we reached our target for Supercard downloads within hours!



    Thenumber of Supercards initially available has always been limited andthis pilot phase is now full. However, everyone who registered theirinterest but wasn’t able to get on this pilot will bepromptly notified upon successful completion of the pilot.



    For those of you who are keento stay informed about Supercard, you can keep an eye on the Supercard.iowebsite or download the Supercard app from Google Play or Apple’s App Store. Bydownloading the app you’ll be able to register your interest and will be sentnotifications about Supercard’s progress.



    We’re sorry to those whostruggled to register on Wednesday, this was due to the unprecedented demandfor Supercard. We’re currently contacting customers who were effected (that wehave contact details for) to offer guidance.
