Having been stung for £200 on a single overseas transaction, I would argue it is pretty important that it is clear upfront how the product operates.

Just received this weeks Martin email and he has now decided to do the visa vs MasterCard rate comparison! It begs the question why did he not do that before recommending this card! And exactly where did the figures on the spend comparison table come from?

He has now changed his tune and is recommending MasterCard!

So it looks like financial savvy beats martin!

I therefore wish to ask, so exactly how much did martin receive to promote a poor product, which if you have a dispute your only avenue of complaint is an authority in Gibraltar.

25000 of you are now trusting them with the ability to dip into your bank account! Seems a silly idea to me.

Until anything actually arrives, it's going to be hard for them to 'dip into your bank account'.

Disputes are likely to be a nightmare due to the back to back nature of this product but ultimately it will be Supercard you need to go after not your issuer.

And what happens when the dispute is because supercard have taken in mistake. Dispute starts with supercard and then if not happy ends up in Gibraltar. You have to ask why it does not go to the fca?

But then you know all this as you read all the terms and conditions!

To be fair, the Supercard will still beat any other card that puts any kind of load or charge onto the Visa or Mastercard Wholesale rates. It will also still be significantly better than any widely available currency exchange.

All Supercard have at the moment is my name and address. Even when they do have the debit card details the only authority they have to "dip into my bank account" is the same as any other company that I've provided my debit card details to.

I think people are being overly harsh. The launch was indeed a mess (probably thanks to the MSE email). But the card is yet un proven, and on the face of it will be one of the cheapest ways of spending abroad.

Ordered my Supercard when Martin advertised it and it's still not arrived. C$ rate this week is the highest in a long time. As oil prices are now on the up again, I don't want to lose out on this great rate. However I didn't really want to take all of my $ in notes. Can I exchange now and then 'pay onto' the Supercard or not? Any advice appreciated thanks.

No, that's not how the supercard works,
