The whole episode was extremely successful ...

I guess when we receive replacement cards with new dates, that should be the trigger for us to update our Supercard details.0 -

My thoughts, having had the Supercard since May/June (whenever it arrived!). Have used it in various European countries, USA, Australia, NZ, Singapore & Indonesia.
Have found acceptance basically good, it's brilliant for cash withdrawals particularly. Goes without saying that you should carry alternative cards too, though.
Had numerous times where the card has been declined for no apparent reason - mostly purchases, so this could be due to communication issues, as I assume the Supercard is fully online, having to get authorisation from the linked card's issuer first. This hasn't really been an issue in Europe, more so in Australia/NZ.
All in all, a great product - not perfect, but it is a pilot, though I'll definitely keep it in my wallet. Not sure exactly how it'd pan out if I had an issue with a transaction and had to dispute - I'll reserve judgement on that one. For high value items etc. I'll probably keep using an alternative, since I've got other forex fee free cards, but this will still remain my #1 choice for obtaining cash abroad.0 -
Can someone please explain the pros and cons of linked cards. I am a numpty. Simple language, please.
Should I link my normal debit bank account?
Should I link a Visa cash back?
Should I link a MasterCard?
Are debit cards better for ATMs? Why are MasterCards bad for ATMs? Is it because they work as if I were using a physical MasterCard and am charged for using an ATM as per normal at home? What about Visa cashback at ATM?0 -
I too am having problems getting refunds from Supercard. Used it for on Groupon for a deal back in January which I then realised I needed to cancel but 5 weeks later still waiting for my money.
Plus had to cancel some tickets when I was in the USA and still waiting for that money (long story involving Statue of Liberty tickets that I had to keep changing due to the snow storm that hit Eastern US at the end of January)
Even worse, they seem to have charged me a 3rd transaction frot the merchant who I cancelled the tickets from which shows up on my credit card bill from them but doesn't show on my Supercard statement.
It's not a huge amount of money (about £50 in total) and I appreciate their Asian customer service centre have staff who are only following a script but getting no joy yet.
Now trying a second prong of attack through their Twitter customer support.0 -
Managed to finally get someone to ring me today from their UK office (I'd only spoken to their Asian call centre in the past) who promised to repay my refunds within 3-5 working days (and I now have their phone number so I don't have to go through their call centre if the money doesn't emerge)0

I so wanted to like this card but I've encountered problems with the card from, not accepted or liked at certain places. However the biggest problem I've had is when I've tried to take out cash from an ATM abroad, I've had failed .....transactions, so the ATM had declined my wanting cash. I am disabled and a wheelchair user and found myself in a sticky situation where an in store (a big supermarket chain) ATM failed my cash withdrawal attempts. It's did so several times, I knew the funds were there so thought it was my pin or something but it wasn't. It just failed me. It wouldn't work in certain supermarkets. I had several failed cash withdrawal attempts then later discovered despite these not going through, not giving me cash, the money was sort of put aside i.e., taken from my account and it would take up to three weeks to put the money back and cancel the failed yet pending transactions.
Now this was for several hundred pounds..that was taken out of my account despite my never actually getting any cash. I don't understand why it takes 3 weeks 15 working days to put right. Now you need to have spare cash in one's account available to be able to wait 15 working days.
I am disappointed with the in app too ...when you contact customer services via the app it cannot link or associate your account i.e. supercard details despite doing it logged in via the app. One would assume it would work like online banking, once logged in they know who you are and what your account details are whereas supercard doesn't know me from Adam when I try to contact them via their links when logged in. It's crazy they can't link you, you have to make sure you write your account details in the email for them to be able to know your details despite being logged in on their app. Clearly this also needs attention to avoid yet more delays.
I'm not happy, my money is taken when the cash withdrawal attempts failed all on same day same location and it takes 15 working days to sort out. I am fast approaching the 15 working day and still the transactions for cash are still pending??? Still short of several hundred pounds in my linked account.
I just can't understand how money can be taken out of my linked account by supercard when I didn't get any cash from the associated transactions. Maybe this is where they make their money.
I think I will stick with my revolout card...much easier, had no probs to date.0 -
Finally managed to get my refunds back. Can't say I've had too many problems using the supercard (never had it refused in ATMs abroad) but clearly their customer service and practices are far from perfect.0
