Yeah just realised there would be no benefit as the exchange rate would be dictated by the ATM rather than the bank - the original thought was that it would be better than going to a bureau de change and changing cash but it wouldn't be.
It is possible to get Euros without conversion in the UK. There are some ATMs in UK airports (eg airside by the Moneycorp stand Gatwick South) that can dispense in Euro, Dollars, or GBPs and you can select not to have the machine do the conversion.
Having said that, I tried this with my CaxtonFX card last week in Heathrow T5 and that machine didn't offer to charge in Euros, only convert to sterling, so I cancelled the transaction.
You may have to experiment. Then again, most overseas airports have loads of ATMs. Just make sure they don't do the conversion for you. You should have a choice.
Whether the Supercard then charges a fee for the ATM being in the UK I don't know. Common sense suggests not, but who'S to say they follow that!0 -

There is a thread over on the Credit Cards board discussing this. The conclusion over there is that the "without conversion" option is only offered is your card is using Visa or MasterCard (i.e. doesn't have Link available), i.e. credit cards or non-UK cards only.It is possible to get Euros without conversion in the UK. You can try and report back to us

It all depends on whether the CC company has recognised this card yet and defined it as being cash.
I don't see how they could recognise it as cash. I assume all charges against the linked card will just be billed 'Supercard'? Hopefully we will have feedback soon.0 -
Someone on hotukdeals have confirmed they have withdrawn cash from an ATM abroad linked to a credit card with no fees:beer:0

Good stuff. I'm definetly aware they could (or even should charge) though don't see how the credit card issuer could dimstguish the charges from Supercard as a cash advance.0
