I told my mum the day after we found out (about 4-5 weeks) because it was Mother's Day. I told my brother and sis-in-law later that week because SIL is a midwife and I wanted advice about some bleeding. I didn't want to tell anyone else, not even my dad. I still don't really!
OH on the other hand wanted to tell everyone, and told his mum, dad and nan, plus everyone he works with but his workplace is 2 hours away so wasn't too bothered.
I then said we had to wait until the 12 week scan to tell anyone else but he still told his best friend before that!
Now we have had the 12 week scan we've told wider family and I've told my 2 best friends and my manager. OH has told almost everyone he knows and is sulking because I said I didn't ant to do a Facebook announcement. The way I see it, if we're not close enough that I'll ring you and tell you, you don't need to know :)

I think a lot depends on how you are going on, for me I found out at less than 4 weeks, I was being treated for a kidney infection, then they found out I was pregnant, but for me I was sick as a dog even before being confirmed.

My best friend found out before his lordship, only because she lived around the corner from the doctors, I was in shock.

Work I had to tell as soon as confirmed, - was due to the nature of my job, that meant that everyone knew almost immediately... It was cat out of the bag.

Others just found out as and when.

    Congratualtions xxxx

As for friends I would tell them around 10 weeks, and even if you have to ask them not to say anything, as for OH and work, I would say a need to know, I sure once the bingo ladies find out, your have an endless supply of matinee coats, blankets etc xxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I found out on Sunday so I'm not really wanting to tell people just yet, but I would be more than happy to at 10-12 weeks.

Haha oh yes they all start knitting as soon as they find out! Some of my friends were given some hideous stuff! :rotfl:

DS1 - told parents and siblings at 6 weeks, but only because BIL & SIL announced their pregnancy and we (then) knew that the babies were due 4 days apart - and we were due first!
Told work and friends at 10 weeks. Scan in those days didn't happen until 16 weeks.

DS2 - told parents at 8 weeks. OH was not happy about the pregnancy as DS1 was only 5 months old, so told his Mum in the expectation she would back up his view of a termination. She didn't. Told siblings/close friends at 10 weeks. Didn't tell work until 20 weeks as I'd lost weight after DS1, so only looked like I had before my first pregnancy.

DD - unfortunately wasn't to be, but had not told anyone about the pregnancy, so did not have to untell them. Again, had lost weight after DS2, so no one commented on the gain.

I would say that the changes to your body (suddenly I had huge hooters lol) may well give the game away for you!

    Congratulations!!

We told everyone when we found out at about 4 weeks. I'm glad I told work asap as I ended up having nearly a month off work with severe morning sickness and nausea!

I told close family and friends as soon as I had told my hubby so it was about 4 weeks. Everyone else we told after the 12 week scan. It is such a personal decision though.

OP, congratulations on your very special news. I hope that your pregnancy is trouble free.

Mine are older now, but I told people as soon as I found out. My job involved heavy lifting, so I had to stop doing that. I also suffered all day vomiting throughout, so it was quite obvious from an early point anyway!

My daughter told people within a few weeks (shows how long ago my pregnancies were ). Unfortunately, she lost her baby at 12.5 weeks. It was a dreadful time. When she became pregnant a second time, my daughter and her partner decided to wait until she was past the twelve week point. Her partner wanted to wait until she was 16 weeks. However, I guessed that she was pregnant, but kept it to myself. They told people at 16 weeks, after a second scan (they paid for a private scan at that point). She managed to hide her morning sickness during the time she hadn't told work, but as she works shifts, that helped.

My gorgeous granddaughter is now 4.5 months old :D

Told both sets of parents by giving suitable gifts on Mothering Sunday (knitting patterns and wool!), I think I was about 8 weeks then?

I told work pretty quick coz of morning sickness. Friends etc just when we saw them (parents took care of extended family!)

I'd lost a baby early on before when no-one knew, and this next pregnancy felt totally different so was happy to share early.

    Baby is now 26!!!

Personally, I agree with your OH. having been through a missed miscarriage I am glad that not many people knew (we told siblings and parents and work after a private scan that dated me at 7 and a bit weeks) so there was less people to have to tell sad the news to- if, god forbid anything were to go wrong (which I so hope it doesn't for you) it would be your OH that has to the tell everyone, and possibly having people asking how you are and constantly reminded of it. lots of my real life friends don't know I was ever pregnant or had a miscarriage and I'm quite glad they don't.

If I'm luckily enough to fall pregnant again I don't think we would tell anyone until we are well passed the 12 week stage.
