When is Suggs back anyway? WAASkint, maybe you could even persuade your hubby to join us on here eventually, even if it was just to lurk and not post? We'd be extra nice to him and I'm sure Suggs and Ajax could do with the company! Are there any other men on here by the way? If there are or you're lurking, then a big hello to you all.:hello: I think it takes extra guts (excuse the pun!) to be a man and be upfront about losing weight so nice one! (meant in an extremely non-patronising way before you start Ajax!)

    Evening :hello:

Well, I've finally caught up with all the posts I missed, I feel like I've been away for a week! Thanks for the good wishes and commiserations on my gain this week - someone asked if I enjoyed the fish and chips, and tbh I didn't, maybe I'd be less bothered about gaining if I had!

Bails - I know how you feel about biting your tongue, I've spent more time than usual with my MIL because of the death in the family and I've had to count to ten on numerous occasions over the last few days!

Delly & Efrieze - thanks for your offer to do the spreadsheet to give me a break. I'm going on holiday (yes - again!) in a couple of weeks, so I'd really appreciate it if one of you could do it while I'm away. Do you want to toss a coin.. draw straws.. or do a week each? :)

Always Skint - I think your OH was treated badly by the WW leader and I hope he gets over it and doesn't let it put him off going back. The fact is that he will either decide to go for it, or not, regardless of what anyone else says, but I do think she could have encouraged him more by starting off with a 10% goal. The problem I have with WW is that you have to reach a target they agree with before you can become a target member, which may not be a weight you want to get to.

Poohbear - I'm impressed that you make 500g of mince go so far, but then remembered that when I was little, my mum used to buy a pound of mince and it would make a meal for the whole family, 5 children and 2 adults. DH and I eat a whole pack between the 2 of us, (DH has about 60%) and it doesn't seem like a large portion. Maybe we've all got used to larger portions, which is bound to have an affect on average weight.

Right - I think I've collected all the information for the chart, so I'll be back in a mo with it. Before I go, as a couple of people have indicated that they want to join in the September challenge, shall we start off the list now? For those new to the thread, the idea is to copy the list, paste it into a new message, and add your name. I've included a couple of people to start it off>

    WOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am so chuffed!!

just got back in from working at my new business which is door to door selling - not sure how much more i can say before getting modded for referring so i won't. I've been at it for 2 months and tonight had my best night ever. Got home and talked OH out of a pizza and had a syn counted meal. And now i'm slimmer of the week!!!!!!

I have to hold onto this feeling and remember how much better it is than a big bag of crisps. thanks to to you all for your warm welcome back, just look at the impact you're having on me!!!!

    squueeaall!!!!!!

    so chuffed!!
  • Can I join please? I'm just back from my honeymoon and have put on at least half a stone

I don't posesss a pair of scales so I have no idea what weight I actually am :o But I don know that I need to lose weight.

    Any help appreciated

Edited to add: I'm clueless about all this as I have NEVER been able to stick to a diet before. Have looked at the Tesco Ediets thingy as I wouldn't be able to face a public class such as WW. My choices for things like this are limited as I am in Northern Ireland.

Hi Arkonite Babe - welcome to the thread - I've seen you a few times on th Norn Iron board.... how's it going?

I have to tell you - your choices aren't that limited just cos you're in Norn Iron. If you do want a class I'm sure there's also a Rosemary Conley or slimming world class near you. And a "public" weigh in isn't that humiliating. Usually only you and the class leader knows what you weigh.

The best idea though is the first post on this thread - there's a link to a calorie counting website that will give you an idea of the calories you should be consuming, what a "target" weight might be for you etc.

As for scales - don't buy them, the temptation to weigh in more often than once a week is too great and can be a HUGE mistake. Go to your local chemist or boots - they usually have scales that will give you a printout. Then you can keep your little slips as a record of your progress.

There's loads of friendly people on the thread who'll give you loads of help. Why don't you sign up for the September Challenge? (as in to lose 5lbs by the end of september). If you want to know anything else, just give us a shout!
