Raphael - Personally I think eggs are good for you, someone correct me if wrong but I guess its how you cook them. So poached eggs are fine. I think the only bad thing about eggs are that they are high in colesterol.

I think poaching is one of the heathiest ways, and I prefer it to frying anyway, the eggs don't taste of grease. (And I never miss-time it like boiled eggs ~ I like 'em nice and runny!)

Re: the colesterol...isn't there good and bad colesterol? Which one do eggs have?!?

    It's all so confusing :rotfl:

Hello, any chance I can join your club? I'm really overweight & I feel like a whale :(

I started a couple of months ago at just over 17 stone, I want to get down to about 14 stone eventually. I've slowly managed to drop to 230 lbs (I think thats 6 lb off 16 stone.

    I think I need a bit of a push.

Also, does anyone know if eggs are good or bad for you (I've heard both!)
I find it difficult to eat breakfast, mostly due to my rolling shifts ~ if I'm on earlys I just can't force it down at 5am, and if I'm on nights I don't get up til 4pm, and usually just don't bother.
However I love poached eggs on toast (wholemeal bread & marg) and wondered if this was a healthy enough breakfast as I could prob eat it every day.

    Hi and welcome Raphael.

To answer your question, eggs ARE good for you, and your breakfast of poached eggs on toast has actually been found to be more sustaining than most other breakfasts, i.e. it lasts till lunchtime. However, if you have high cholesterol and have been advised to follow a low cholesterol diet, you should restrict the number of eggs you eat each week.

Count me in too, please. Just to clarify - am I trying to lose 5lb before the end of August or September here?

Hi Katyk - there's still nearly a week left of the August challenge, so if you pull all the stops out you could lose 5lbs by next Wednesday, but don't worry we're not expecting you to! The September challenge starts from Wednesday 29th and lasts 5 weeks, so a 5lb loss by then will be much more achievable! :D

    Good luck to everyone.
