IF you aren't doing SW I've made it healthier in the past by padding it out with quorn, and I put a couple of sticks of celery in everything i make - chop it finely and they won't know it's there. I read once you can use all-bran to make mince go further but I've never tried it personally.

I sometimes add a bit of porridge oats or oat bran (just a handful) and noone knows its there. I also add celery like katiecopycat and carrots and peppers. When the kids were little I used to chop it up really finely and they always ate it quite happily.

I always have an oatibix with a bit of muesli and soya milk for breakfast. Is that a low point meal? I don't follow a plan other than healthy eating and low fat.

    A litle about me!

    Heaviest weight after DS2 19 stones 0.5 pounds!!

Then i lost 3 stone with slimming world.

Then i gained some back again and weighed 18 stone 7 pounds.

Contemplated doing Lighterlife and decided couldnt afford it:eek: .

So did mega lifestyle change and cut back on all the rubbish trying to lose it by myself (started middle of NOV last year).

Hit a wall :wall: and started gaining a bit back again and decided i need some extra support.

Rejoined Slimming world again last night and current weight is now 14 stone 7.5 pounds.:o

Been extra good today and feeling positive so thought some extra support would make it even better!:D

I'm at a loss when it comes to breakfast ....

Once upon a time i'd have yoghurt and banana for breakfast (but no fridge means no yoghurt ... plus I'd prefer to go dairy free if poss)

I've tried muesli or toast ... but both actually seem to increae my appetite (bread is the worst for this for me ....hence I should avoid it)

I've heard many suggest that a breakfast of purely fruit is a good way to go (including from a food combining point of view.)

Does anyone else do a fruit brekky? If so - do you dress it up/make a fruit salad? Any suggestions?

    Thanks all, :D TC

    Hi Tiredycustard

Sorry if this has been aswered lots already (haven't got that far yet) but just thought I'd see if I can help. I've read that the best way to keep yourself full and your blood sugars stable is to always eat some protein with carbohydrate. This slows down the release of the sugars from the carbs and therefore your body feels fuller for longer. So I would suggest always eating some protein e.g. nuts or seeds with your fruit, say 5 almonds or a dessertspoonful of pumpkin seeds with a piece of fruit. I find this really works for me.

I also make my own muesli which I have with a small amount of fruit for breakfast and this really fills me up for ages. Or eggs on toast (or rye bread) is another option.

I can dig out the recipe if you're interested, it's v simple and I just make up a batch which keeps me going for a while.

    Hope this helps x
