  • i just got on the scales and i've lost this week! Looks like my return to the LW thread has worked!! It' wasn't a proper weigh in as that's going to be on tuesday from now on but i'm really chuffed. I'm going to really enjoy my planned chinese tonight - the smug feeling is so much more satisfying than the guilt. thank you, thank you all for your support.

Glad to hear you got your slow cooker custard(can i call you that?) I've had some absolutely great meals in mine and once you move into your new house you'll find you'll probably be able to freeze at least one portion each time you use it - every 3 or 4 meals you make in the slow cooker you get a night off cooking entirely!

afraid I'm not getting the fruit for breakfast for thing so i can't help there. when on green days for sw i have omelette and beans - you can add cheese or toast as healthy extras. OR one of hte magazines suggested french toast - you can do it savoury or sweet by putting artificial sweetener in the egg. You could have that with fruit!

    Well done on the loss:beer:

I've not even weighed myself yet ... I'm gearing up to getting on the plan (not quite sure what the 'plan' is yet:rotfl: )

Have unpacked the SC and it is big! As you say ... should be able to freeze a little each time I cook (maybe use small portions for my lunch - I always get stumped for what to do at lunchtime ... end up grabbing something unhealthy usually:o )

Breakky today was muesli ... not too bad (need to work on portion control though - it was a BIG bowlful:o )

    'custard' is fine:D :D

If you're the slim young blonde that wears tight jeans that MrP just happens to notice every morning (he has it timed to perfection:rotfl: ) then personally I think that you mince too much for my liking and definitely too feminine!!!.....but these are modern times...hey ho!...

Well done katiepc :j I'm pleased to see that you're back on track and I hope you enjoyed your chinese last night as a treat :) ...

...and notanothergreyhair :j 3lbs in two weeks is excellent, keep it up :)...

... 6fhyzut.jpgwe are always skint (:rotfl: ) I'm pleased that you've already gained a bit of motivation from us here, we're a friendly bunch and try to help whenever we can. Try and find a plan that will suit your lifestyle and include some treats to prevent boredom, I would also suggest that you try and plan your menus as a lot of us here now do, so that it makes your life a bit easier :D and then by the tiime your holiday comes you'll not only be slimmer but more relaxed and ready to enjoy it:j ...

...the mention of holidays reminds me saversarn I didn't mean to upset you re the comment on your trip, when I reread my post (whilst looking for something else) I thought it read a bit off and it wasn't meant to be :o. I hope you've had a good weekend ready for a :j weigh in tomorrow...

    ...Victory 5st  :j :j  :D:D ...

...tiredycustard I'm afraid I can't help you re breakfasts as I very rarely have one, usually on holidays only, so as I said it is very rarely :D ...

...All this talk of slow cookers has inspired me to get mine back out of the cupboard this week. I'd put it away for summer and wasn't going to fetch it out until Autumn was here, but looking at the weather today - blimey!! I only bought a small one but I've decided to get a big one so that I can do as some of you suggest and freeze any excess. Thanks Peeps:T ...

...have a good Sunday Peeps ...

..... hehehe... it's funny how us men can get a genuine warm feeling just from something so simple. We're all the same you know :) Mince... must do a chilli for tea :)

tiredycustard something has occurred to me. Rather than me copy a load of sw green recipes for you, if you look on the SW site you will find a week's meal planner, a sort of free trial menu. I can only assume there is one for red and one for green. Give that a whirl, and it will also act as a sort of shopping list.

I took your post exactly as it was intended, was not in the least offended, I must admit I'm dead excited to be going to the States- but had to rub in the 'it's a hard work thing' as my boss reads this website... I have been claiming half the offices bank charges back and changing their credit cards and bank accounts :p so now we are all hooked :D

thank you petrichor, I thoroughly enjoyed my chinese and even successfully emptied the free prawn crackers straight into the kitchen bi to avoid any late night hiccups. I've just spent 6 hour straight hours on the m1 and am knackered. Still, I did what I set out to do so that is something and I remortgaged my house(!) to buy a luscious fruit salad from m&s so i am officially A Good Girl. V impressed custard at your eating muesli, give yourself a bit of time before you start weighing out portions and you'll be fine. Welcome to WAAS, you will definitely find te suppot you need here - this is without a doubt the friendliest thread on MSE!

I've only been around for less than a week and i'm rofl-ing at the thought of ajax being the girl next door. Men are all the same - my OH once walked into a lamppost because he was too busy checking out a girl on the other side of the street to notice it. I was actually holding his hand at the time.

HI all - back yet again and still extremely overweight. Have got computer working again at last so will try to pop on more often - about 3 months since I last said hello.
Currently still around 15.5 stone and still no taller than 5'5'' (unlikely to change in 40's but ever hopeful...) so still in much need of some will power. Unsure how to go about it - used to be a member of RC but local franchise quit and no-one new took over so cannot go back. WW, SW, SS(Scottish slimmers) etc all available locally but have been on so many diets then given up that all I get is a humpph and skyward eyebrows from OH if I say I going to join another so may just try to go it alone and check in here when I can. Will read back last few pages in next few days - good luck everyone and hope you are all doing well.

Hi katyk  and Welcome back :j (All we need now is ThrftyKatie back, I hope she still reads us) it's a pity that your OH isn't as supportive as he could be especially as it's for his benefit too, but never mind, once you show him how determined you are this time (because you are!) I'm sure his attitude will change :D. To help you get started why not just get into the habit of eating healthily and with reasonable portion sizes for the first week or so, while you decide what plan you want to follow, but only browse those sites/books after you've had a meal otherwise you'll start craving anything and everything. However, whatever plan you choose it will only work if you stick to it, just take it a week at a time, and before you know the months will have gone along with the lbs ;) . Good luck katy :T ...
