So don't think about it as 140lbs but as a series goals - the first 7lbs, then 10lbs, then the first stone etc. Someone here had a great idea where you mix it in sts and lbs and in lbs only so that it seems you are always meeting a target, I'm sure that she will be along shortly to explain it her way
.
Thats exactly how I do it. Not sure if I maybe mentioned that in one of my earlier rambles.
Say you set your target as 3 stones once you get to that Id have my next target as 45lbs then when I reach that Id have my next target as 3.5 stones. The one after that would be 55lbs. It means youre basically meeting your current mini target every couple of weeks.
Its a psychological thing. Its kinda making what ever seems bigger in your mind. My current target is 90lbs my next one will be 95lbs then 7 stones then 100lbs (albeit 100lbs is only 2lbs over 7 stones lol)
The added advantage is each milestone is maybe only 3 or 4 lbs away so its doable in a short time. Taking it in small sections makes it less daunting. I know by knowing Im only a couple of lbs away from my next mini target helps keep me focussed. If I was to look at the big picture Id be too disheartened and also in danger of thinking, if I go off the rails this week it doesnt matter, itll be ages before Im at goal anyway, one wee week isnt going to matter. Small targets make me totally determined NOT to give in. I know if I stick to things this week then next week I should have achieved ANOTHER mini target.
And if anyone has followed all that - well done0 -

I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the lbs for £s challenge? I've noticed it in a few ppls signatures & it sounds really interesting.2019 Wins: Feb: £10 Aldi Voucher, Frankie & Benny's meal for 2; May: Game from Maynards. ...Hey BB what a good idea :rotfl: does Brighton still have the nudist beach? I lived for a shortwhile in Lowestoft many many years ago and I loved living on the coast (house right on the seafront - fabulous, but blummin cold in winter, triple glazing!) wish I'd stayed there. I now live about as far from the coast that you can  ...
.......... you must be very close to me then petrichor?0 -
Well done Curveygirl :j and zulubabe :j I hope it inspires you both for a good weekend :T ...
...Thanks efriezeI remembered it was you later on in the evening (should have realised
) and your visualisation of it all in babies really does put it in perspective (I've just realised I've passed the 3st mark - thanks) ....
...Thanks also starlightI agree about the psychological thing; when I set my initial target I didn't want to see it as 9st but as 125lbs even though it was only 1lb different, the fact was that it was 8st something  ...
...chickadee With the exception of biscuits, we seem to be similar in our food tastes. I agree with newlywed about meal planning and to help with easy preparation of meals when you get in after work I'd suggest you keep a ready supply of cous cous/rice/bulgar wheat, canned chopped tomatoes/ratatoullie/pulses, frozen chicken breasts (I can't remember offhand if you're a veggie or not) or quorn, etc etc with such things as these combined with onions (a necessity in my home!) and other fresh veg it's quite easy to ring the changes and prepare a quick but healthy evening dinner. I hope that this helps a bit...
...zulubabe In my case the £'s for lbs pot (a photo of which appeared a couple of weeks ago,) I didn't want to attend a slimming class, so to inspire me I put £5 into my pot at the start of each week when I weighed myself, therefore I had the benefit of the money rather than anybody else, it certainly inspired me and I'm still putting this amount in even though I've met my targets to help me stay there:j...

i just got on the scales and i've lost this week! Looks like my return to the LW thread has worked!! It' wasn't a proper weigh in as that's going to be on tuesday from now on but i'm really chuffed. I'm going to really enjoy my planned chinese tonight - the smug feeling is so much more satisfying than the guilt. thank you, thank you all for your support.
Glad to hear you got your slow cooker custard(can i call you that?) I've had some absolutely great meals in mine and once you move into your new house you'll find you'll probably be able to freeze at least one portion each time you use it - every 3 or 4 meals you make in the slow cooker you get a night off cooking entirely!
afraid I'm not getting the fruit for breakfast for thing so i can't help there. when on green days for sw i have omelette and beans - you can add cheese or toast as healthy extras. OR one of hte magazines suggested french toast - you can do it savoury or sweet by putting artificial sweetener in the egg. You could have that with fruit!0 -
Some silly bu*ger forgot to post their progress last week
