Hi chickadee - you don't have to commit to the whole 5lb by the end of the month challenge to join the thread.
Everyone here is really friendly and supportive - no matter what weight loss option you choose.
I don't go to any class either - have opted for healthy eating and banning biscuits and cakesworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Yay:j Just got my slow cooker ... big un too! (6.5l I think)
Cant wait to try it out. No time tonight ... but will unpack and have a go with it tomorrow:D
Katiepoppycat ... what a great idea. I'll def speak to DH about that later. We just found out today that completion on house move is delayed by another week:mad: so it'd probably be worth getting one of those little fridges - I'm sure it'd come in useful over xmas etc when we need that extra bit of space.0 -
Thanks newlywed, I too am a biscuit lover. My main problem is that I struggle to think of health evening meals that I can prepare when I come home from work. By the time I get home my brain cells are frazzled, I can't think of anything to make and I am getting shaky so I turn to rubbish just to fill a gap.
I know organisation is the key so I am trying to meal plan more effectively.
When I'm really busy at work everthing else goes out of the window so that has been my difficulty recently. Oh, and my holiday.
I started well today, after a trip to Tesco last night for healthy supplies. Luckily I enjoy salad, fruit and vegetables and don't really enjoy burgers, fish & chips, etc. Well, theory bit over, now all I need to do is put it into practice!

Hi dragon and welcome to this lovely thread :j where you'll find loads of support. If you look back a couple of pages you'll find a chart that lists our losses and you'll see that you aren't alone by any means when it comes to large losses. So don't think about it as 140lbs but as a series goals - the first 7lbs, then 10lbs, then the first stone etc. Someone here had a great idea where you mix it in sts and lbs and in lbs only so that it seems you are always meeting a target, I'm sure that she will be along shortly to explain it her way
. I've just cleaned my bathroom too :T but sod the kitchen!! :rotfl: Someone else said that WW had gone up to £5.50 pw  so keep on putting it aside for yourself and dig into the old willpower - I wish you well:) ...
...Hi chickadee and welcome to you too :j thanks for joining us, and pop in as much as you like...
...saversarn You've made me feel a tad better, but just make sure that you work really, really hard and don't go out enjoying yourself too much
but as for a local WW in Texas  ...

...
...Hey BB what a good idea :rotfl: does Brighton still have the nudist beach? I lived for a shortwhile in Lowestoft many many years ago and I loved living on the coast (house right on the seafront - fabulous, but blummin cold in winter, triple glazing!) wish I'd stayed there. I now live about as far from the coast that you can  ...
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and remember that help is at your fingertips
xxxxI wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

I'm at a loss when it comes to breakfast ....
Once upon a time i'd have yoghurt and banana for breakfast (but no fridge means no yoghurt ... plus I'd prefer to go dairy free if poss)
I've tried muesli or toast ... but both actually seem to increae my appetite (bread is the worst for this for me ....hence I should avoid it)
I've heard many suggest that a breakfast of purely fruit is a good way to go (including from a food combining point of view.)
Does anyone else do a fruit brekky? If so - do you dress it up/make a fruit salad? Any suggestions?
Thanks all,TC

Lois will be along to add you onto the table. The chart is updated on a Wednesday evening, but you can post your weight loss at any point in the week (my weigh day is a sunday simply because that's the date I started the diet).
I find meal planning helps as I know as soon as I get home from work what I need to cook and start cooking without evening sitting down - otherwise I wouldn't bother getting up again to cook. Thinks like pork chops (remove the fat of course) can be grilled in about 10 mins or so and meanwhile tinned potatoes and veg can be heating up on the hob. Or omelette doesn't take too long to cook.
At weekends if I do a shepherds pie or lentil curry etc I will make double and freeze so I get an easy day later in the week where I just reheat itworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

.
I think that might have been me. I have been on a diet since 8th January. I record on a spreadsheet:-
Date
Current Weight in stones + lbs
Current Weight in lbs
Current Weight in Kg
Loss in stones + lbs
Loss in lbs
Loss in kg
BMI
I also do the Monthly challenge so aim for at least 5lb loss per month. With this info, almost every week I achieve a milestone or other.
For example, this week, if I lose 1.5 lbs, i will be in the lower half of the stone I weigh rather than the upper half, if I lose 2.5lbs i will have reached 75 lbs loss, if I lose 4.5 lbs I will have lost 5 and a half stone (and 35 kgs) and if I lose 6.5 lbs my BMI will have reduced by 1 whole point (!). That's how I look at it. Hope that makes sense.
Another thing I do is try to visualise my weight loss. My DD was born almost 2 years ago weighing 8lbs exactly. As I have lost 72.5 lbs, I have lost the equivalent to 9 baby DDs!!!! That really makes me visualise what I have achieved. Hope that doesn't scare people too much.0
