CAN ANYONE HELP?
.....in a word ... YES!!! There are loads of people who can help.
Firstly, can I say something (in a totally :grouphug: way)? There are many places on these forums where people have to almost be defensive, and justify what they type for fear of being judged by those who read what they post. This thread is just sooooooo not one of them. No-one here will judge you, we are all here for the same reason. No-one works any harder than anyone else, and no-one has it harder than anyone else (except Delly - she has it easy cos she doesn't have to put up with Delly :rotfl: ). I promise you, no-one will say a bad word to you on this thread.
Right then. I'm veggie too, and it's by no means a problem for me when it comes to weight loss. I see it as a helpful tool to be honest, especially when I was following Slimming World's plan.
Do you have a slow cooker? They are fantastic things for making meals. I often spend 5 minutes slicing and then throwing things into mine in the morning, come home and have a fantastic meal waiting. It is a godsend!!
Hehehehe... 'tiredycustard'... love it0 -
Thanks so much ajaxgeezer for your supportive words. So you're veggie too ... I think there is sometimes the conception that veggies never put on weight ... but I find the biscuit barrel hijacks that theory
Hmmm, slow cooker, now I did think of getting one a while back. I think now you have mentioned it, I'll get one. Any recommendations?
How do you find Slimming world? Sorry if this is a very forward question ... but would you possibly mind posting up a typical days food/meals (i.e. what you eat). Or maybe pm me?
Sorry to come in asking so much. I hope I can reciprocate.0 -

I've only been to Ontario but that's one helluva place to have a party, and one helluva place to enjoy some great food. Having said that I was going out to the baseball, drinking Canadian beer and staying with an Italian family so I don't suppose I gave myself much of a chance
How many points in half a cow?
I'm loving the diet (come on I'm only on day three really so I'm still in the honeymoon period!)
And if I find myself looking to pick I just log on and play with ajaxgeezer's spreadsheet.... today my colour scheme is orange and yellow
The strange thing is my scales have broken and I can not weigh myself at home, after thirty years weighing myself daily I've been twitching and dribbling and finding it really hard. However now I'm starting to feel a bit liberated and may not replace them....0 -

Hi tiredycustard :hello:
welcome to our supportive and kind forum - I echo what ajax said - there won't have been anyone on this forum who would of thought you were some moaning minny. We all have rough times/difficulties and understand when others are going through it. You sound tired out to me: well done to finding some energy from somewher to try and sort your food problem. Of course as you realise, the sugar factor will be making things worse - isn't life unfair  .
I do slimming world and can't praise it highly enough - but I haven't quite the time tonight to do a days food. Will try later.Edit - realised not much point -I'm a total carnivore... But I also echo Ajax on the slowcooker - a godsend, especially if you work all day.
The other vital thing is meal planning. I know you feel you have no spare time for this, but it will save you time and energy in the end (and money). Try and work out a weeks (I do 2 weeks) meal's at a time, do one large shop, so no endless popping out for the missed bits. The night before, before you go to bed, get what ever you need out of the freezer, or do all the chopping ready to throw in in the morning before you go to work. Hey preto, you come home to a hot nutricious meal you don't have to think about.
Investigate some low fat/sugar treats you can enjoy (others on this forum will have some greta ideas.)
Mst of all, keep posting here

.... we have the Antony Worrall Thompson slow cooker that is in the current Argos book. I think it was about £30 but I'm sure there are cheaper ones. We just went for that because we had wedding vouchers
Slimming World is fantastic if you stick to it. It sounds ideal for you too because you want to cut out bread, which is one of SW's taboo foods, no matter what part of the plan you follow. You would do green days as a veggie, and really can eat as much rice, pasta, couscous, potatoes as you like and not use up any 'syns' (naughty points). As a veggie I found this fantastic, and the only reason I'm not doing it now is because I was doing it for so long, and went down the "a change is as good as a rest" route. I would recommend it, but not paying for it - if you stick around on this thread then you will get everything for free that you would pay SW for. We're all here to moneysave, right?
Over the weekend I will do you a recipe for every day if you like - you will be amazed at how much you can get away with. The only things that will really kill you as a veggie on SW are bread and alcohol... and even with alcohol there's scope for 2 glasses of wine a day if you like. Fancy sausages, eggs, chips and beans for tea every day? It's possible without using a single 'syn'!
Never apologise for asking questions- if you want to know the answer then it's pretty certain someone else will want to know too. I love it when people post questions on here cos I get new free tips :T
Oh, and PS...... anyone who thinks veggies never put on weight has never heard of cheese, chips, bread and (as bails would say) vin rouge.
