Not always a good idea if you want to have kids eventually - It can take YEARS for the side effects to wear off. I ought to know.......

I was able to lose weight (on a diet) whilst on depo and didn't have any lasting side effects and conceived DD easily. I rate it as very good. Not gone back on it though, as want another child soonish and it can stay in your system too long.

    Sorry - back to LW...

Having one of 'those' days (or should I say few days!) where I feel really fat and that I am now putting on weight!!!

Not sure if it's because I had a take away curry and bottle of wine on Friday (first night after my weigh in) I wonder if it started off my week all wrong?? Though I have ben really good since Sunday afternoon and not even had a little treat!!!

Do you think if you feel fat then you might actually be fatter as it's all in the mind??? Or is it hormonal?? (sorry boys!) Not sure re hormones really as had a hysterectomy 1.5 years ago but kept ovaries (as still under 40) so still get the pre menstrual stuff but not the yukky bit (doubly sorry boys!!)

Well it's weigh in tomorrow night so time will tell. Also if I lost 3lbs each of the first 2 weeks maybe it's ok not to lose any this week???

My aim is 15lbs in 15 weeks so I don't feel too pressured!!!

Alos not been following any plan, just trying to be low fat, watch portion size, cut out the bad things etc etc.

    All opinions greatly appreciated!!

Hi again - I've finally caught up, you lot could yack for England! ;)

Another good week for weight losses, so well done to everybody. It will come as no surprise that Skint_Catt is Slimmer of the Week with an amazing 7.5lb loss this week! :T

Five people have already achieved the monthly target and are on track to be Slimmer of the Month - Skint_Catt, Rustynash, Furrypig, Efrieze and Bindiboo. :j

I won't be surprised if I've missed anyone, so if I have, please let me know.

Have a good week - be careful out there!

    Hi furrypig
first and foremost: wait til tomorrow's weigh in! You are trying to second guess the impossible :D . Hormones can explain the 'I feel fat' feeling but it may not be factual. Also given you have lost 6lbs in the last 2 weeks, it is quite possible (+ takeaway) that you might maintain this week.
In the last 3 months, every 4th week I have lost 3lbs, then maintain, then lose .5 or 1lb for 2 weeks and yet I stick to the plan & similar exercise each week. So definitely a monthly pattern for me. So don't be discouraged if you do maintain - just keep going as you have been doing on the weeks you have lost.

Don't go too long without a little treat. This shouldn't be torture if you are to suceed in the long term.

Hey beanielou: happy to accept you are older than me: don't want to compete on that one :rotfl:

That's quite interesting to know. I had the merina fitted for 3.5 years and it took a full 3 years for my cycle to come back to normal (and that was with meds to help it courtesy of the unkindest, most arrogant doctor I've had the misfortune to meet). I think I must be one of the unlucky people who just can't use hormone treatment successfully. AND I'm allergic to latex - my options are seriously limited!

I'm suffering from PMS at the moment - usually have a hard time of it but this times it's worse than when I was eating all the rubbish - I have pimples  - I never got pimples when I was scoffing junk all the time - now I'm being good I'm getting them . Thankfully though still no cravings for sugar at all.

On another note - I will be weighing in on Sunday if that is ok?

    Hi guys,

Unfortunately I have not been well for the last fortnight. I had man flu for the first week then some sort of stomach bug the week after(vomiting a lot).

Whilst I did lose weight I think this was water loss which I have now gained now that I have fully recovered.

I have lost 14lb in 6 weeks approximately so far so I am gonna start again from tomorrow.

feeling quite scared by all this talk of conception and cycles. Still i'm sure we'll be back to normal soon. BB thank you for your invitation to join theholiday club I shall be in that corner with you straightaway. It is actually dead easy to eat healthily at re-enactments but i must hang my head in shame i went spectacularly off-piste with apple fritters which was A Very Bad Thing.Had to laugh at your observation on the role playing, my OH does that too! He's a master demonologist which I'm told is very good. His character is getting married in a couple of weeks and I am making his wedding outfit. Thinking of sewing something itchy or smelly into the lining just in case . . . .
