No. Put them away. See if you can freeze them so you can have one when you get to goal?

  • BB cut them all into 1/4s and freeze them immediately! Weeeeelll, maybe keep 1 quarter out for being good. Then you can have some every day for ages! How good is that?!?!

Tallgirl, nice to see you back, I'm a returning failure too. This time we'll stick with the thread and get there!

OMG Ajax, can't believe you aren't watching Heroes! Thats the final thing then, you aren't my OH keeping secrets. It's on on Wednesday nights on BBC2 but I'm sure it's out on dvd so you'd be able to catch up. If you liked 24, or any other series where there's a huge story arc and people are often not what they seem then you'll love it. I know non comic book geeks who love it equally too, so it's not just for nerds. Suggs, Hiro has been to the diner. *sniff* very moving. I think I'd like Peter's power then I could have any power that I wanted. There was an XMen character called Synch who could do what Peter does but he got killed off early so I'm hoping Peter stays the course.

Starlight that is an amazing loss! So impressed.

Oh and if you aren;t sure about quorn mince to start with, try mixing it with normal mince. I'm a confirmed carnivore and I like quorn, but as everyone has said already don't expect it to taste exactly like meat. No food is an xact substiture for another.

finally reporting a maintain this week which is more than i deserved. so quite pleased!

    Hi

I am desperate to lose weight (need to lose 4st ish) and I am finding it all very confusing, I have looked about on here but there seems to be so many posts and clubs and recipe threads, but I can't seem to get them into any order.........

One main question of mine is.....Is there anywhere I can find out about or get hold of a book etc. for the guidelines/ins an outs of Slimming World, I think I might like this one but I can't really afford to join and attend meetings

I'm a carnivore too but I can't tell much between chilli with meat or with quorn. We also fooled OH's dad and his guests with chicken style quorn curry! they had no idea it wasn't chicken - even same consistency when cooked!

    Fab stuff!

Petrichor please will you tell me what you think about the quorn mince when you've eaten your pie. Is it really exactly like real minced beef? I'm a quorn virgin. My daughter is a veggie and keeps trying to make me use quorn, but (and I know that this is stupid) I just think it will be horrid so won't try. Do you have a really lovely recipe that I could use to convince myself?

Thanks for asking grannynise. As a Quorn mince novice myself here is my (and DD and MrP's) take on it. When it come out the pack it looks exactly like dry-fried meat mince, left to go cold. It doesn't taste horrid, in fact it doesn't taste of much at all. As ajax said it depends on what you flavour it with as is the case with meat mince, and you could use beef stock, but I thought that that would be defeating the object, so this is how I made my cottage pie yesterday :-

    650g potatoes, par-boiled and sliced
    2 medium onions, finely chopped
    2 medium carrots, coarsely grated
    150g mushrooms, chopped
    2 tsps Herbes de Provence
2 tsps vegetable stock powder dissolved in 175ml water
    1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp Bisto vegetable gravy granules
    350g Quorn mince
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Fry the onion and carrot in some Fry Light until nearly softened. Add the mushrooms and herbs and continue cooking for a couple more minutes. Add the soy sauce and stock, bring to a simmer add the Quorn. Thicken with the Bisto and season to taste. Spread the mixture into a baking dish, top with the sliced potatoes and spray with Fry Light. Bake at 180C, 350F, Gas Mark4 for 30-40 mins until golden brown.

DD was disappointed with it but only because when she saw it baking in the oven she thought that it was "proper" cottage pie and that it smelled like it too! MrP thought that it was okay but would have preferred mashed potato on top; I only use sliced potato because I use less that way thereby saving calories:o . However, they both said that they would eat it again, so I think that that says it all!!! DD thinks it would be nice as bolognese, something tomatoey. I loved it and thought it very tasty. I will defintely do it again and try other recipes. :j

Give it a go grannynise, at the weekend it was on offer at Tesco, that's why I decided to give it a go, so if I didn't like it, then it was no great waste...

...Brigtonbelle KEEP AWAY FROM THOSE CARAMEL SLICES 4ukttog.gif NOW JUST YOU WATCH IT!!!

...Nice to have you back with us TallGirl :j :j ...

...Making those chicken wraps of Victory's recommendation, they are in the marinade now (smells lovely, if you haven't used smoked paprika before, I urge you to try it:D ). I've got to pop to the shops for some lettuce, so I'll be back later (and if Bbelle has had those caramel things there will be ructions:rotfl: )

Bbelle -- if you put them in the freezer they'll still call you. And then you'll feel sorry for them becuase they're cold and shivery so you'll get them out and eat them - frozen - even if you hurt your teeth doing it.

BELIEVE ME this is the voice of experience (only it was doughnuts). :o:o Quite a few doughnuts actually. :o:o:o:o

Smash them up and throw them in the garden for the birds! NOW!!

I told myself strongly on the way in that i would only get an apple from the table along with my usual cup-o-tea, but then my DD came running over to me with none other han the FAB costco bakewell style mince pies. Well i am sure you can guss what happened. I ate 1/2 mince pie (huge) then after getting the sniff of them 2 scones :-) but to be honest i felt GREAT after. I have been feeling soo tired and deathly for the last 2 weeks to the extent whee i have just had a lod of blood tests done.

But i did feel not great when i cameback and put it on my tracker in total a WHOPPING 15 pts. I am now after excercise .5 over for the day so i think it is veggi soup for me for a while.

I am now preying i can maintain the 9st 7.5 i weighed in at on mon. As i only made goal the week before

Well here is hoping (and hoping hard i tell you)
