  • WW diet is fab but the online thing is IMO not worth the money. If you have the discipline not to need classes for a weigh in, Id invest in an electronic calculator, an Eating Out Guide and a Shopping Guide.

At most maybe register for esource which is lots cheaper and has access to various parts of the site.

You could also join the Lose Weight thread on here, or www.minimins.com which has a brilliant WW section :)

Vixtress, have you considered the Tesco ediet? You pay £29.99 for 10 weeks but get 1000 points back. I've been on it for 7 weeks and I've lost 20lbs. :j

I've been looking at the one for quite a while now. Are you doing the GI diet on there? SW just didn't work for me. I don't think I could have really understood the term "free" food! I wasn't too impressed by SW consultant or the people that just went for a chat each week :(. I don't eat loads but do tend to pick - my biggest downfall cheese and chocolate.

Well done to Annie, Vicky, Newlywed, Starlight (7 dress sizes in 9 months!!!!!) and all the other losers.:T :T

I'm sitting here feeling like a barrage balloon having eaten so many beans .... tried 1969baby's bean casserole which was delicious ... good job Mr grannynise has gone out for the evening, I think. I may not need the car to get to work tomorrow.:o

I don't know anything about Heroes either, Ajax. Except the chocolate ones. (I'll go and wash my mouth out now after saying the ch word.)

Petrichor please will you tell me what you think about the quorn mince when you've eaten your pie. Is it really exactly like real minced beef? I'm a quorn virgin. My daughter is a veggie and keeps trying to make me use quorn, but (and I know that this is stupid) I just think it will be horrid so won't try. Do you have a really lovely recipe that I could use to convince myself?

But would I really think it was real meat if I didn't know? Veggie daughter says yes but as she doesn't eat meat I don't place much reliance on her opinion.
  • HI everyone

I had my first weigh-in and was dreading it because I have an awful first week.
I had two business lunches that had been booked pre-WW.
Casear salads for both but washed down with either champagne or white wine:rolleyes:
A leaving do for an ex-colleague saw another 4 glasses of wine on Friday and a party on Saturday saw wine and champagne quoffed!!
I was suprised after all this to see a weight loss albeit 1lb.
This weekI am buckling down to business but I have a huge charity dinner and ball to go to on Saturday and am dreading it!!
I want to start exercising but don't have the time for the gym what would be better an exercise video or a early morning jog?

    Thanks
Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

... I can never understand this. Why should it have to taste like meat? It doesn't taste THAT much like meat but it's nice, just like jelly and ice cream isn't meat, but it's nice. If folks want a bona fide meaty taste then buy meat. It's not rocket science. If they want a healthy, low fat, tasty product that can be substituted for meat in recipes then Quorn is great. People shouldn't expect it to be something that it isn't!!! The number of people I've had this conversation with:

"Ooh I tried it but it didn't taste exactly like meat so I won't buy it again"
    "But you liked it, yeah?"
    "Yeah, but...."

... I feel like saying "You shouldn't buy anything other than baked beans and cheap bread until you've saved up enough to go out and buy at least half a brain"
  • We eat the quorn pieces often and they are good and very versatile.

Aspire swimming challenge started today and myself and DD have just got back from swimming 40 x 25 metres, that's 1000 metres down and only 34200 to go!!!! I've also cycled 6.2 miles today and managed to cycle all the way up one of the hills on the way to work for the first time (usually have to walk it) I am really amazed at how much fitter I feel in just 2 weeks. If anyone else out there is debating exercise I would definately recommend it, just stick to what you like and don't force yourself to jog or do aerobics when it is simply not for you. I cycle and swim and walk the dog - I enjoy doing them and it is working.
    Hay ho!!
Hubby just told me that my bum and face look slimmer so that's a boost I'm hoping he looks at face a little more often than bum but any compliment is good at the moment.:T
Keep going everyone - there must be a pot of gold at the end of the yellow brick road (or was is handsome prince??):rotfl: :rotfl:
  • Evening all!

Well done me4bargains and starlight_xx on your loss this week :) Starlight you have done fantastically well... and in a relatively short space of time too!

grannynise I'm glad you enjoyed the beans, I'm planning on having some later this week, I love them, especially when the weather is a bit chilly!

I'm not gloating here at all :D but it was my first weigh in at Slimming World tonight and, despite yesterdays falling off the Wagon (which will no doubt catch up with me next week!), I managed to lose 6 1/2 lbs :D I'm very thrilled to say the least!!
