Hello everybody, haven't posted for a while, but have been lurking. I started following weight watchers last monday (not at club though) and have lost 2 and a half pounds this week. Was hoping for a bit more but its in the right direction. Absolutely think this site is brilliant and the humour between certain persons has me laughing out loud, earning me peculiar looks from the husband. I have recomended this site to my sister, i find it much more helpful and suportive than most clubs i've tried, full of advice and tips and friendly banter. Well done to everybody on your weight loss and i hope those who are struggling, are soon having success. ju

    .....Schmokin'!!!

Delly, no it's not worth £35 to see her chuffed lol.... and they are as much an investment for me as for her. My trade off is that I get to pinch as many of the WW choc bars as I like - the ones that taste like Double Deckers are dee-lishus, and a bargain at 1.5 points each.

By the way Ajax - other than booze what do you over indulge in? 00020096.gif

..... get that pig away, I aint that bad :D . Mainly carby stuff like bread, potatoes, rice and couscous. When we got the scales last night the first thing I did was to weigh myself a smallish (for me) portion of couscous out in a bowl - it was 155g. WW reckon a portion to be 60g for three points. Could be interesting:rolleyes:

What about you, what are your vices?

Nice to see everyone is still being really supportive and helpful on here. You really are such a nice bunch. I think the fact that epople even log on from abroad while on holiday says a lot.

Skintcat well done for the loss that is fab. I have never been to a class but I agree it is a lot of money but if it works it works?

Been quite rubbish this week myself, too much wine (again) and lots of fatty food and biscuits. I think it is the horrid rain and the fact that I have run out of homegrown lettuce in the back garden.

Working from home a lot the next few weeks so it is going to be tough really. I think I shall have to spend some more time on here if I get tempted. Off to Croydon today might just have to pop into Ikea on my way back.

Morning everyone, have finally got the net to work!

Before I forget again, as I did yesterday, welcome to all the newbies, you are very welcome and will find LOADS of great support here. The best thing is being able to log on anytime and know that you will be supported.

Good news from the Dordogne - I have a 1lb loss to report this week, so I am over the moon!!:j

I am so chuffed with myself for being able to keep working on the weight loss whilst still enjoying myself loads [ patting herself on the back]. Normally, I'm a real blow out queen with all the usual guilt trips etc afterwards but I feel quietly focused this time, like it's finally gonna happen. That's due in no small part to all of you so thank you thank you thank you! :A

It's balance that is the key - I am far from denying myself lovely holiday food (so far pain au chocolat, pain, vin rouge, fromages, biere, chocolat, tartes du patisserie have all been munched down) and still I am able to lose. This makes me do a lot of this :D How refreshing to be able to enjoy these foods without thinking I've blown it and guzzling down loads more so I really do blow it!!!

Anyway, enough excited waffling! Good luck everyone for the new week, I'll keep checking in to give/get some more motivation xxx

    Morning all :hello:

Well, no internet access at home again last night - I'm really beginning to regret changing my ISP (warning to others - if anyone approaches you suggesting you join a 'club' that saves money on utilities, don't go for the internet/telephone package).

If it's not back on today I'll be doing the 2lb club in the office!

Catch you later - have a good day.

Awwww teeni I know how you feel. Ive had what the doctor says is food poisioning too since last night. Ive been violently sick and have stomach pains like you wouldnt believe.

My mum and dad ended up dashing up to mine at 0130 this morning and dragging ;) me back to theirs.

I know I havent been happy with my weight loss this past weeks but this kind of diet wasnt what I had in mind lol

Hope youre feeling better soon :)
hope you feel better too starlight , The gripping pains are awful, like you this was not the way I wanted to lose weight. Can't stand the smell of food at the moment never mind trying to eat anything.
But tomorrows another day and this cant last much longer.

Don't be shy to say this. We all love hearing it! And those of us who read the thread regularly think the same thing anyway!
  • Can someone save me from my stupid girl logic please...

It almost time for my monthly email from the gym where they summarise what you've done...trouble is they put it in terms of food....

The last one had a big picture of ice cream and said...you have burned 1067 calories = 2.9 ice cream sundaes.....which I promptly read as....

you have burned 1067 calories...you can EAT 2.9 ice cream sundaes...

Throughout the month you can monitor your progress and for every 80 cals you burn it counts up an extra apple...I don't have a problem with that as apples are healthy (apart from getting annoyed as I don't want to think about burning off the healthy food just the biscuits) but hitting you with the ice-cream imagery at the end is just torture....

Any tips to avoid this illogical train of thought?
