.... Do you think you've so successfully changed your eating habits that you just automatically make the best choices? will that day ever come for me? .....

YES IT WILL GRANNY AND IT'LL BE SOONER THAN YOU THINK and the reason is BECAUSE YOU ARE HERE :j :j

  • I just thought I'd let you know that I've just tried a Morrisons Meat Free burger. I've always steered clear of anything made from soya, for no reason other that I didn't like the thought of it. They're made from soya and wheat protein. I had it in a toasted wholemeal roll (Morrison's own 139 cals) with a few onion rings and a small blob of tomato ketchup and it was absolutely gorgeous :j I shall definitely but some more, I think that they were a ridiculously low price at 99p for four (I bought them thinking that if I didn't like them then I could just bung them out). MrP thoroughly enjoyed one too. A really lovely low cal meal but didn't seem like it.:j

For the point counters amongst you the values per burger are 83 cals, 2.9 g fat of which 0.3 is saturates

I think this post is gonna be a bit long so I apologise in advance. I just wanted to have a little bit of a purge/outpouring- and I wondered if anyone else felt like this....

Its officially day 2 of the diet- but tbh it half heartedly started a couple of days before that. I can't believe how much better I feel! I dont think i've lost any weight but the change in my diet has made a world of difference. Already I feel like I have more energy and I feel less bloated and sludgy. It's made a big impact on my outlook too- i dont feel as low as I sometimes did.

It's now easy to see the reasons why I have got to this point. It went something like ...

Laziness -> Can't be bothered to cook dinner/ prepare lunch for work-> get a takeaway/buy something at work-> eat it-> feel guilty-> put on weight-> feel rubbish and weakwilled -> get low and therefore, feel lazy (we're back to the start)... and so it goes on.

It just takes you to break the cycle for you to realise how bad it was.

This morning I shot out of bed on time (v unusual), I had lunch made, clothes ironed and ready etc. I made and ate breakfast (totally unusual because i would have over-slept). It's not just diet related things that have been affected. My house is tidier, I'm doing better at work and I don't feel as self-concious walking past groups of people (I've not lost ay weight- i just feel less guilty about how I look!). It has surprised me how this one aspect of my life (my eating habits) have such a knock-on affect to other unrelated aspects, probably due to a more positive and proactive outlook.

I've been a competitive horse rider for years and at last nights training session even my instructor (who doesn't know about my new healthy eating regime) said that we (me and the horse) seemed to have "turned a corner tonight"...

Does anyone else feel like dieting/eating more heathily has changed other stuff in their lives seemingly unrelated to their diet? I'm just interested to see how it has affected everyone else here...

    ftb
You could be talking about my life here.
I too find that once I am back on the 'diet trail' then the rest of my life becomes more organised, meaningfull and generally nicer. Oh how I wish I could find the magic 'yellow brick road' that I can follow and stay on until I become the slimmer person who is lurking there. I keep stepping on it but always get tempted onto another road and find it hard to get back. I am going to try so hard this time to stay on the right road because I feel time is passing me by and sooner or later they will come along and dig the road up and I will have lost my chance to be slim forever.
    Good luck.
  • Thanks you guys for the info on the chart Suggs and Beanielou you'll see the changes next week.

Jenpoptab and Justmarried06 I've added your losses to next weeks chart.

(really hoping I haven't stuffed it up for Lois!).

Not having such a great week this week. Have stuck to my points but feeling a little bit "down". I was off work last week and am back again this week so it's probably nothing more than reality biting. Oh well, I owe, I owe so it's off to work I go.

    Have a great week everyone.

  • delly, as long as it's not that boot biting you'll be fine! Thanks for doing the chart for us. Glad to hear the jam making went well Petrichor, i got your pm btw.

Thanks for the sympathy about my neighbour. It was truly distressing at the time but he seems to have got over himself a bit. OH was an absolutely star, went next door and made it seem like he was grovelling without it leaving a bitter taste in our mouths. The council were kinda amused by it all, they dropped by after they'd been round and said they'd told him our garden was nothing to do with him! There's a forum at www.gardenlaw.co.uk that has some spectacular horror stories on there. I wonder if anyone's ever found themselves on there when they went to post their side of the story?

laters all, off to have some syn counted oven chips. Had a LBM the other day when i realised just how many oven chips you can eat on a green day. woo hoo!!

  • Hi, is it too late to join? Pleeeeeeease can i join!! :hello:

I joined Slimming World back in Feb and lost 1stone 10lb in just under 5months but then my work hours changed so i couldnt get to meetings anymore.
I now have training every third wednesday so I've rejoined to go on those days.
I went yesterday and had lost another 2lbs since July so i now have only 1stone 8lbs to go to my target. This group would really help in the weeks between my meetings!

btw our group's password was herbs.
  • thanks Katiepc. I think it's just a matter of one of those days. Did go over my points tonight but nothing I can't pull back by Monday and tbh I'm not too worried if I don't

Welcome to the thread crazychatter. You'll get loads of support and tips on this thread. There's a few people following slimming world here so you're not alone. There's a link on the first post to the Lose Weight recipies thread you'll get some great free or low syn ideas on there too.

BTW everyone, whatever happened to Cheekymole and her bitey boot?
