Hi everyone, it was my weigh in back at WW yesterday and I have lost 2.5lb, which I am pleased with, that means 6.5lb to be at top of healthy BMI range, which is my first target I am aiming for, then 5lb after that. I need to get that 6.5lb off by 08.01.08 or else I will have to start paying at WW again.

Good luck everyone for this week.

  • Thanks for that ajaxgeezer, I've never tried to make them in a microwave (not sure why though!) might be an idea for work lunches :)

I've gathered from your posts you're not doing SW anymore, but when you did, what sort of thing did you have for lunches? I've had couscous for the last 2 days because I can make it up at work, the pasta and sauce is a good idea too, so I'll give that a go next week :)

...the important thing about doing them in the microwave is to ensure that you give them a good stir in the water so that there are no lumps of powder. I'd chuck so many peppers, onions and quorn into it that you wouldn't believe it - the pasta looked lost in there.

I'd usually have a pasta and sauce or couscous. With the couscous, I'd pour the water over it then microwave the accompaniment which was usually a mix of chilis, onions. peppers and passata or tinned toms which would be stuck into a tupperware container the night before - easy zapping! If not couscous then one of those bags of Tesco steam rice which are about 1 or 2 points but are done in the microwave in 3 minutes. Leftovers was great also - being already cooked just made it zappable. Cottage pie was a fave, or Spinach And Sweet Potato Curry

I took the photos of me last night, was worried about looking at them because I see myself differently from others but they are not so bad, my face looks a bit gaunt or 'not filled out' as H put it:rotfl: :rotfl: with fatness I presume he means, I took 4 one from each side ,H says if I loose anymore I am going to look as if I am on drugs:rotfl: :rotfl: oh well let's just hope I can maintain it with all these WW recipes I keep making, today is spicy carrot soup 0 points, aubergine soup 0 points, I made a huge batch last night to keep me going;)

  • Thanks!!

That spinach and sweet potato curry looks yummy!!

I noticed that this time round there are a lot of tinned things like macaroni cheese and ravioli that used to be free food, aren't anymore.. what a swizz!!

Victory, just seen your weight loss, thats excellent, well done. Also to the other big losers, you've all done so well!! I think you'll be an inspiration to me over the next couple (well quite a few probably) months!! :D

... brighton belle posted the reason recently as to why the mac/cheese wasn't free anymore. Users were pureeing the tin of mac cheese to make a really creamy cheese sauce and THEN putting that on a meal. Keeping all of the calories of the original tin but none of the 'stodge' that make the body recognise it as food.

Oh, and the spinach and potato curry IS yummy :)

Well done on your great loss justmarried
  • Go losers!

thanks ajax and a1969 - I'll give them a go without the milk and stick them in the microwave too - saves on the washing up! a1969, as far as lunches go I often take fat free supernoodles or savoury rice to microwave. There's a recipe on the losing weight thread for a sweet potato and red pepper soup that is gorgeous, and try my chickpea and pasta soup recipe thats on there - it makes a massive pan of soup and while the leftovers are in the frdge the chickpeas soak up all the liquid leaving you with a yummy cold pasta dish. On red days I steal cooked meats from the development kitchen so that's really easy. Or for a treat I go and get something from the rotisserie at the local supermarket. Got a day off work today while the new fencing goes in today . . . except that only the post holes are going in because the panels aren't ready to pick up till later today. V excited but also nervous as my elderly neighbour kicked off big style when we first started the work and I can't help but think he's going to do it again . . . . . . .

quick question for SW types - I just had some batchelors pasta and sauce and it was yummy. Is it vile if you make it without the milk to reduce the syns? Anyone tried this? I didn't bother with the butter and it was still tasty.

The cheese and broccoli and another one (I forget which) are free anyway - the milk comes out of your allowance.
