Hello dear turtles, hugs to those who need them and high fives to everyone working on their targets!
I did a great bit of MSEing yesterday! Have been avoiding boot cut trousers since I started cycling to work, and thinking about buying bicycle clips for my trousers. Remembered I have some thin elastic in my sewing things and made some quick loops I can pull up over my shoes to my ankles. They did the trick great and cost less than 10p (well nothing really as the elastic was in my stash!) very impressed with myself and they are light to carry too.
Yesterday was SFD 9 and today should be 10 as I go to the Buddhist centre after work until 10pm and they will feed me too. I contacted the Oslo Buddhist centre and they have some English events whilst I'm there so that should provide some low-cost fun. Have run out of milk and sultanas for porridge, but I've held off so far, with toast for breakfast instead. Think I'll have to go to Aldi on Weds though as I've no fruit either. Need to remember I go to Oslo on Tuesday, and not buy loads of food!
The Only Girl I'm a (second) alto too
Bob I've been reading your super wombling thread and will look out for receipts! (trouble is I don't go anywhere near supermarkets most of the time!)
Handed in the two pieces of work I've been sabotaging yesterday, so now on to the next jobs on the list! Also planning my budget Oslo experience - my mum is buying me a travel kettle
I am grateful for helpful PhD colleagues, an empty office with birds singing outside, my mum supporting my frugal ways.NST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

Well nothing exciting to report in my dull life will reach SFD no 8 today. Was going to see a play tonight but unfortunately my friend I was going with, daughter got rushed to hospital and had major surgery at the weekend. Hope she pulls through as she has a young child as well. Seems to have gone well so far. Some people seem to have an awful lot of bad luck.:(
CEW I would make the most of all the lovely services you have on offer. Glad to hear hospital appt went well.:)
Bob hope you get the boiler sorted. I cannot manage without hot water being a bath monster as well. Nice news on VAT payout.
Well kiddie free after work today, may attempt to do some walking as ate a whole packet of chocolate biccies last night. Think I was full of cold, tired after moving muddy plants in horrid wind from my daughters garden to mine. Cross with myself doesn't come close and they didn't make my cold any better.
Mothernerd if your reading I left the ivy plants there.:rotfl:

Hello all,
Back again as I thought this was important to share. I had a look at my mortgage account online last week and noticed Natwest had again reduced my monthly payments (some people will remember my rant at the start of the year when they did this). This time there was no obvious reason so rang up ready for a fight and they admitted it was an error and have changed it back (although too late to fix this month so I am overpaying the difference).
Just wanted to share and encourage everyone to keep an eye on their mortgage movements - this little change of about £14 less per month to my mortgage would have meant it took an extra 1 year and 3 months to pay it off, and would have cost me £2,017 in extra interest! Exactly what I don't want when I'm overpaying to get rid of it as soon as possible.
Hope that helps someone, can't wait to move providers when the deal ends.NST September: SFD 17/20, food £62.87/£60, travel £61.55/£40, Outings £39.80/£100, Allotment £7.17/£30 Other: £42.32, Meditation ?/30.

Syn- I remember your previous rant, they are so naughty doing that. How many people would notice? Didn't like Nat West as a bank with Santander now and they show your mortgage balance everytime you log into your current account. I am on a fixed rate so would jump at a 1p difference.
Well done for bringing it everyone's attention.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Hi everyone! Syn, well done on flagging that up - I had a credit card with NatWest and they were really not great, I wouldn't bank with them again if I had a choice
Today has been another NSD/LTW/workout day, and a bit surreal...I managed to get myself on the local radio for an online petition I've set up. Pleased, because it's something I really believe in, but also quite anxious about it for no real reason. It wasn't nice hearing my voice on the radio either! Just waiting for the national news to contact me nowOH has come home with headache and general fedupness, so I'm sure my evening will be about cheering him up - must not promise to go get him chocolate from the shop!
Have a lovely evening everyoneBought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free!

Hello everyone, I'm really struggling because I want to be nice to my OH and treat him for his birthday. I've been a big silly and am over budget. He knows I am struggling though, and I think I'll have the pressure eased off for a bit. And next month will be quiet. Lots of work coming in too, which is great.
Also feeling crappy because I dropped my phone and broke it, and haven't got round to updating my insurance details yet, so it's going to have to be like that for a bit.Keep reading books!

Hi Everyone
Well that's me claiming NSD 7. I am pleased with myself as I really planned it today. Dinner will be a little make do and munch but helps our shopping budget and bagging the lucky 7 so whatever.
I have managed to bag a party booking in July from replying to a message on a local forum so that is good. That's 2 party bookings I have in the diary now.
I have figured out a way to pay off £500+ on a card end of this month as well which I'm pleased about. Have really struggled to do any major chunks recently.
Thankfully the plumber came today and concluded the issue was a fuse blown in Mains which knocked out the boiler control panel. Suffice to say it was easy to fix and he was only here an hour.
So today I am grateful for making plans and seeing them through, a sunny ride home, tips & lovely hot baths.
