How very interesting. If I womble reciepts I do tend to add them on before I shop, purely to use the reward at the end of the shop that day, but never had vouchers given to me at the CS. Maybe it varies by location, who knows. I use the biggest Sains in the area, what used to be called a SaverCentre, so it is like a food barn, with so many extras I have never seen anywhere else." Well done on your NSD Academia. Hi Abundant, really glad you are getting sorted out, sounds like you've had a lot on your plate.
Not a NSD today, but I did get a large VAT rebate that was completely unexpected. It is due to the amount of electricity they used in my shop when trying to dry it out, but I was paying the bills each month, to keep them sweet, then the insurance reimbursed me. Well I didnt know it but I got to claim back all the VAT, so effectively I've been paid twice!
Paid myself the remaining £200 odd quid I needed for my salary this month, paid 2 bills for the business, & have left the rest as a buffer. So a good day all round.
Cycled my usual journies, it was harder in the sun today I found.
As our boiler packed up last night and they cant get anyone around till the morning, I have in turn been boiling kettles to get an inch of water together so we can all have a bath. 3 smelly people right here in need of a scrub
Have a good night all.
Bob
P.S oh and added £3.50 to my annual wombling total, £2.50 for a new nectar reward earned, & £1 in tips today." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Well thanks to Apple Muncher I claimed a SFD today as all I spent was £1 for parking at the NHS hospital for my appointment. Really impressed that it was so cheap £1 for 2 hours. As it was we arrived 45 minutes early and were seen immediately so I was actually out before my appointment time :j Did a good deed and passed the parking ticket on as there was still over an hour left on it.
Appointment went really well. It was my annual check in with the MS nurse. I only really go to keep myself in the system just in case the MS flares up suddenly. She has recommended that I go to an MS Centre for some treatments - physio, yoga, massages and possibly hydrotherapy. This is run by a charity and all they ask is for a donation. If I need a referral she is happy to supply one. I'm going to contact them tomorrow as they also do a Mindfullness course with meditation which sounds really interesting.
Hope everyone is enjoying the good weather.

Glad it was a straightforward hospital visit CEW. The stuff on offer sounds really good.
Congratulations Bob on the vat rebate and how lovely to have a cushion. Hope you all managed to get scrubbed clean.
Today I am grateful for a day where I achieved some important Things, for dd leaping into my arms when I got home from work, for easy peasy lavender bags, for chocs from lovely neighbour, for drinking coffee while enjoying the view from my clssroom (2nd floor, lots of trees).NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all,
Hugs stewby, take care of yourself and everybody completely understands prioritising family at this important time.
Welcome back abundant, glad you are getting sorted and in a happy place
Yay to the VAT payback bob
Today has been a much more positive day. Had a good day at work, the sun was shining and OH heard that he got an interview for a new job where they will actually recognise his skills with a suitable wage. He has worked in the same company for nearly 3 years and has moved up the career ladder but his current company have refused to increase his pay in line with people in the same job that they have recruited externally. I am hoping that if he gets the job, it might be a positive thing for us to both focus on, and would relieve the money situation on his part.
Today was SFD number 5 tooalthough I didn't make 11,000 steps

Checking in with NSD # 4 and LTW # 6. I used my pedometer at work and clocked in 9000 steps from 12nn to 8pm. Not bad! Hoping to increase that tomorrow. Apart from all the walking at work, I haven't done as much moving as I wanted to do as I now have a right shoulder pain to add to the mix. First it was my back and a pulled muscle around the left shoulder bone, now it's my shoulder. Oh did I mention the left hip? I think I am getting old, or rheumatic. Note to self: if symptoms persist see a doctor.
I was over the moon when I checked my bank account this morning. After 2 or 3 weeks of opening a Santander 123 account, I was so happy to see over £7.50 in cashback and £1.60 in interest. It would have been more if our energy provider was included in the cashback promo, but hopefully at the end of June when our contract ends, we will shop for a better deal and WITH cashback, I also have £0.65 confirmed and paid on Quidco. I tried to apply for a Santander 123 credit card (I knew I would be declined as I have just finished my DMP and still have £2100 left of my credit card account. I thought I'd just try to see if I could transfer the balance of my remaining credit card debt and pay 0 % interest, but it's not meant to be.... My husband applied for a Capital One and was approved, hoping to improve our credit ratings slowly but surely, as long as we stay focused and within our budget I am hoping that all this mess we've found ourselves in will eventually disappear.
Samiszel. Good luck on your quest with the weight shifting. I am in constant battle with that too. I transformed from size 12 in 2002 to and embarrassing size 18 now and I am torn between facing the fact that I will be large all my life, or acquire a lot of patience, focus and self discipline and lose all these extra baggage. If only it is easy to convert the lbs to £. I read a quote that goes like this:
When God wants to measure my worth, he puts a tape measure around my heart and not my waist
And this:
My mirror does not define ME.
Syn congrats on the success of your choir. I love how you said: ...your voices become more than the sum of your parts. I am in a choir too, I sing alto.
CEW, good luck on your fencing/gardening projects. glad to know your hospital appointment was a smooth one. And there's possibility of being referred to the MS centre. It sounds lovely to be there.
Stew I am sending big hugs your way. I wish you all the best as you try to get through this series of family health problems.
Abundant, hip, hip hurrah to your new found freedom. When you are on any kind of journey, careers, education, debt-busting, it is always helpful to surround yourself with the right kind of people. It sounds like you are in the company of people who can lift you up and not drag you down.
Bob, congrats on your success with the insurance reimbursement and tax rebate, it sounds like things are on the up. Except the boiler of course. I hope it get sorted soon and it will not cost an arm and a leg. Two years before, our boiler packed in sometime in February when it was still very nippy. We scraped and saved until we could afford to have a new one installed in November that year. That was a LOT of heating water in the kettle, oh I just remembered, we used big stock pots instead to heat the water for the bath and dishwashing, It was our fault actually. It would have been covered by the emergency cover part of our home insurance then. But because we failed to have it serviced 2 years prior to the incidence due to lack of funds, the insurance wouldn't pay out when our boiler packed in. Lesson learnt: Not all penny pinching is worth it, it's false economy."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Morning All
Thanks very much The Only Girl. I really do feel so much better about life than I did 12 months ago. When all the problems were just starting at the shop.
For the first time since then, all my accounts are in order (business side) & I am not robbing Peter to pay Paul. The insurance win part 1 is a massive boost. I now hope that the ombudsman will be swift in sorting the rest out.
The boiler is a pain. So you had no hot water for months? Wow. I can imagine how you'd just have to get on with it but what a huge pain. You don't realise what a luxury hot water is till you don't have it. Sorry to hear about your pain. It doesn't sound very nice at all.
Today I am going for NSD 7. I think we have enough food in to do dinner tonight and if I need to buy anything I will use my tips (free money)
Right, up and at em.

Keep up the good work everyone!!!
