Thank you for your well wishes academia, I am ok but just a little shaken.
Bob and the only girl, sounds like you have both made brave career moves and they both sound like you made them for fantastic reasons
Today has been a spendy day - did the food shopping, got petrol and had my massage. It was amazing, although the beautician commented on how knotted my back was and warned me that I might be achey and bruised tomorrow. My shoulders have way more movement in them now and the tension she released was brilliant - I came straight home and fell asleep for over 2 hours - I only woke up for dinner and I'm heading back to sleep again soon.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Don't give up your day job!
1 Make a note of your passions, hobbies and new activities you would like to try.
- I would really like to try skiing, I am going to plan to go to an indoor ski slope and have a go or a lesson.
2 Imagine your life 5 years from now.
- I find this really difficult. I think I know why, but I don't have a solution. My OH is exactly the same person he was when we met 8 years ago, he has not grown up at all (and wasn't acting his age when we met). He has no drive/interest in having a family, doing home renovations or getting married. He says I am free to do any of the above and he'll follow suit but there is no common dream or goal, and any plans I make for the future are just mine with him tagging along
3 Consider the following categories and write down where you are dissatisfied, or hate it, or it drives you mad. Then note down 2 realistic solutions and 2 fun alternatives.
a Job/work - I am happy with my career at the moment, it takes a lot of energy but I do get a lot of satisfaction from it.b Money/wealth - I am to be DF by January 2016 and then I want to save for home renovations. I am not overpaying my mortgage as I only have 10 years left on it and would rather improve our home and create a savings pot.c Home - as above
d Health - my health isn't perfect but I am grateful for having manageable conditions
e Spare time/play/fun - I need to do more of this and more of it for free! At the moment, my spare time and fun is really only in the school holidays, so it would be nice if I could get more of a work life balance in term time.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

fmess, sounds like you really needed that massage and well deserved too. I am slightly jealous as I have been battling with tensioned back muscles for a couple of weeks now (even before the digging malarkey last weekend). You just gave me an idea for a perfect birthday treat to myself in a couple of weeks time, time to look for a good deal. Thanks fmess.
Apple, glad to know you are much happier at work now and the situation changed for the better. There is nothing worse than going to work and having to put up a mask just to get you through the day. Considering we spend most of our waking moments at work. And the sad thing is, it has a knock on effect on our home life, as kids pick up on our unhappiness and it makes them unhappy too.
For us who have been there, done that, known how it felt to be bullied or be an outcast, the challenge is for us to be the nice person at work that makes somebody else's working hours more enjoyable rather than endurable (if there is such a term). That we are not the one who is the thorn in somebody else's side."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Fmess -that must be tough with your OH. Is he a passionate person about life at all? Some people just don't get fired up. Doesn't mean they aren't happy but just don't do highs and lows. I am sorry it makes planning your life harder." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Good morning.
Apologies for not posting yesterday, was feeling a bit cheesed off to put it nicely. Made plans to see someone late lunch and as he is feeling sorry for himself again, he admits he has nothing to feel down about. Anyway annoyed as I had arranged with friend to look after my dog and cancelled plans I had with daughter. Think he does suffer from depression slightly so I was understanding whilst grinding my teeth.
Had a nice day out visited castle and some walled gardens using my National Trust card. Decided to have a coffee cake which was massive and a brew so a spend day oh and bought 2plants on the way out. May need to spend today, fruit bowl empty.
Right dog walk next. Catch up tomorrow properly.LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/220 -
Morning,
Spent some money yesterday which i shouldnt have!!
Only £7, and most of it was for work - toilet roll, tea bags, hand wash etc.
Today will b sfd numero 5, got a lot of planning to do if i'm going to make 20!!
Ltw all weekend, made some bacon sarnies for today, cant wait
On the work situation, i love my job although i get sooo bored sometimes. I live in a small town where wages are way below average, so im really fortunate to have a job part time that pays more than a lot of my friends get full time. For that reason i love it, and i will stick to it for as long as i need to! :rotfl: maybe when i'm debt free I'll jump ship to what I really want to do in the future, but for now i cant afford it so i'll plod alongStill here..... but working on that!0 -

Nope, he usually has one thing that he gets into for a while and that is it. At the moment it's golf. As usually he is fast asleep and I am spending the morning alone with the dogs, then he'll wake up and go to golf. I'm starting to get really bored of it to be honest.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

My hubby just came back from sainsbo for the weekly shop (there goes another NSD! Out of the window). Half of me is pleased that he's thought of helping me, that's one load off my shoulder, but half of me is annoyed because I wanted today to be NSD. He made up it up by saying that he has discovered a trick to get the most out of our nectar points. He said when he buys from sainsb, he doesn't swipe his nectar card straight away. Instead he keeps his receipts and claims the points just before he goes shopping. That way, he gets the coupon print outs that come out after putting the points on and uses them for the shopping he is just about to do instead of losing them or not using them for the next shop when the coupon would be out of date. Why didn't I think of that myself?"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
