Managed another SFD, despite working at an office two minutes' walk from a giant S'bobs today - I'm okay til I walk in the door, then come out with all sorts of unplanned spends so best option is to stay away!

Lunch to work as well, I love that beginning of the month zeal, but know it'll wear off by week three, hence trying to post daily as you suggest, applemuncher, hope that way I can keep on track for the whole month...

As we still have enough milk for a couple of days, hope I can get another one or two SFD's in before I have to visit a SM. Am seriously considering putting some "milk money" in an envelope on my next spendy day, as this is always the thing we run out of (two pre-teen boys that think there's a cow in the garden, or perhaps a fairy that magically replaces the milk they consume in vast quantities...). That starts the spends, and then I think I might as well have a little splurge and pick up some other bits while I'm at it.

So, wise Turtles, if I set up an allocated pot just for milk, do you think that would still keep me in the rules, or is it cheating?

Caeraugirl - try it! If it helps you spend less, and ups the number of NSDs you acquire, then go for it! It'll also give you a clearer idea of just how much you spend on milk - might be worth investing in a cow...

Lilty -so pleased you got some DECENT trainers and no longer need to go for cheapo ones. I shall be buying myself some proper running shoes for my bday. Either that, or a proper waterproof that IS waterproof!

DrCarrie - yuk to not sleeping. Hope tonight is better after such a long working day.

Well done on all the steps and moving about. Tho Fmess and tog - steady on there! Yay to sewing machines that do edging and also to sewers who know how to use them.

wishus - sorry about the rules arriving late. I plain forgot to copy and paste them in.

LSK - good luck with the envelopes. I tried it once but it stressed me out soooooo much. You have my respect!

Another NSD to claim here. Twas a frenetic start to the day, then a rather frenetic day at wotk, then a frenetic drive home. I am glad to be home. It is egg and chips for tea.

Investing in a cow :rotfl: - I might have to do this. Do they make soya cows?

Tea here was curry rubbed chicken thigh with gently fried halloumi and spinach with ranch dressing apple. All

that was had prior to that was bulletproof coffee for breakfast and a handful of macadamias! :D I think on balance I got it right today :D

P.S the proper waterproof waterproof was the last thing I bought!! I have used it to death the last few weeks. A ski jacket from a clearance area of a well known sp0rts retailer you can go to direct. £35 instead of £130. So so so worth it!

Lilt - I shall be going directly to a certain sports retailer when I can be bothered. Not up to it just yet and will need to be on form so as to make a good choice. Want trainers that spark joy, even if they don't light up when I run!

Hi Caerugirl, I have two teenage boys whom I wish would drink more milk to help in their fast growth and mental development, but they have "outgrown" milk, so they say. They drink fruit juices by the gallons, which I am worried are laden with so much sugar, that the small benefit of a bit of vitamin c is outweighed by the sugar content.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Frustrating day here. Have had 2 appalling days trade in a row which just isn't funny. The big insurance cheque that was supposed to have cleared today hadn't so a payment I rang up to make first thing failed. Then I managed to block my bank security by accident. The whole thing spiralled and took about an hour to sort.
Then the insurance policy that is due for renewal and has doubled due to my claim, won't allow me to pay over 12 months but is insisting on 10 which makes things very tight indeed as it's £175 a month that way.
My landlord decided to pop in & say hello today and I felt really embarrassed as the shop was empty. People always seem to come when it's dead or so busy I am running round like a maniac.
I then had the chain come off my bike on the school run which made me very late as I couldn't get it back on.
All in all I just feel utterly down and fed up today.
Sorry. Hoping a good night's rest will help.

Nothing to report here today apart from some serious pre-wedding nerves and constant comfort eating. A bit of spending but nothing ostentatious, and three more nights booked for the honeymoon (off in a rented Motorhome for ten days), all still under budget.

It's all starting to crumble already. Brother in law, one of only 4 people invited to take part in the wedding shebang, isn't taking time off work and won't be there for any of the photos. Will'be about' for the meal. I'm not sure why this is bothering me but it is! Sigh. I'm going to go back to watching an old episode of Sherlock I think! Oh- my answer to activation - I read a lot of Prepper websites. When you think about it, their milder survivalist ideas fit perfectly. Pay off debt for financial freedom, cut costs, be more self sufficient, find more renewable energy sources... Very good info :)

Today I am grateful for a wonderful friend having dd when we turned up on her doorstep, for finishing oral exams, for chats with lovrly pupils, for the trees blowing in the wind, for my egg and chips!

No SFD today or yesterday so still on 2 at the moment. The good news is I did a freezer inventory and produced a meal plan for the next week. In addition to this I still have the basis for at least another 2 weeks meals so I should be able to come in under budget on groceries for the month.

Still working on the Motivation etc and will update soon.

Hugs to everyone having a hard time. Keep going as it will get better.
