congratulations bob, how exciting!
Today was a spendy day, again, went to get bridesmaid shoes but didn't find anyhas lunch out and an ice cream this afternoon! Thank goodness I'm back at work tomorrow! Hoping to have just one spend day for the rest of the week.
Did lots of walking and achieved 22000 stepsreally pleased, just wish I hadn't ate such a late dinner and ate too much as I was so hungry from eating late. Had two huge nose bleeds today and have ended up with a headache too so I'm off to bed. Night all

Bob you lucky devil.
Walked lots today, not as much as Fmess however 14100 steps, when I had my phone on me.
Used my national Trust card and treated myself £1.60 to a hot chocolate sat in lovely gardens by the river this morning with it.
Grandson came this afternoon and I was horrified to hear his other granny took him to fair and spent £80 on rides. As my daughter says she just fritters money away and has nothing to show for it.
Just hope he learns No from me.

Just found £10 on my way home. I have now posted this fact on 4 threads as it is so amazing to me. £11.05 in roadkill this weekend.
W.O.W!!! Bob, you and roadkils! It's just amazing. Are you sure you don't have a built in magnet that finds all these "lost coins?" I am super jealous.
I had a small spendy day today. Just a few garden bits and bobs and some food essentials.
Weather was almost tropical this afternoon, perfect for gardening. I managed to MOVE!!! Tidied up the remnants of last year's vegetable beds, potted my dwarf beans, assembled my mini-greenhouse, and dug-out the malnourished, almost-at-the-end of their life bushes in the front garden. I never thought I could use the spade like that. I think I dug a whole week's worth of gym sessions, I am pretty sure my back, arms and shoulders will let me know about it tomorrow.
The funny thing was, while I was digging for England my husband was inside the house cleaning the kitchen and roasting chicken for our dinner. We are strange like that, I am the country bumpkin and my hubby is the city boy so he has zero interest in anything garden related. He's happy to eat the produce but he doesn't know appreciate how they translate from seeds to a meal on the table and all the preparation and hardwork that goes with it.
Tomorrow will be the start of another long week of midnight finish and I am so not looking forward to it. So I better get to bed and wish you all good night. Til tomorrow."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
*sneaks in sheepishly*
Hi guys...
Sorry for nil check-ins. I had 3 spendy days in a row trying to get myself set up for the month and usually my SFD's all come at the start so I am not sure of my new method.
I spent £53 in H&B on things for my diet and also some epsom salts as I love them for my bath! I got £34 off what should have been the total, £5.88 cashback and £12.12 in points. Basically means I got £31 worth of coconut oil for free
I also had spends in Mr L and Mr A to stock up but am now getting into the swing of this cooking malarkey for the new diet.
Hope you're all ok. I have caught up but I can't remember things to comment on though I know some people deserved a Wow! Well doneso pay yourselves on the back. Bob, The Only Girl, mess... lots more! Everyone have a pat on the back.
Today is SFD #1 and my budgets are hammered. Onwards and upwards! I made £109.14 on fleabay after fees this monthbut now I need to pay for a solicitor for something that someone from my past has dragged on for 6 years. At least it will be over with soon.
Is also a good reminder to get my drivers license renewed. only provisional but I have no way of identifying myself currently!! xx

Nice one bob, and The only girl - I am jealous of the gardening!
I have been awake since 3am! argh . So I haven't gone to yoga as I am working all day in the NHS and then 3 hours tonight, privately - just picked up another client yesterday.
Here's hoping for a NSD and walking up and down those stairs (and a better nights sleep tonight).

Good morning turtles, I feel like I have been dropped from a 3-storey building. As expected, my body is letting me know how unfit I have been and how I need to do this more often. It's a rainy morning so more gardening is not on the cards today. I will probably do some more sewing before I go to work. Oh and I am going to wear my new trousers that I shortened and tapered. Yippee. By the way, I was so excited to use my sewing machine after a very long time and I didn't realise it could do edging. Now I can't get enough of it. Bring on July so I can enrol on the dressmaking course led by the council.
Got to go, i need to make mine and the OH's packed lunch. Hoping for NSD no. 2. Have a great day y'all!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Morning everyone, not a very pleasant one here i'm afraid!
In work today but thought id have a little check in.
Yesterday wasnt a sfd as me and dh popped to mr.l to pick up a few bits for the week. Only spent £14.30 so not to damaging!
Today should be a sfd, i usually need petrol on a tues but am trying not to use my car unless its for work, so anything over from my £30 fuel budget this week will go to the credit card.
Starting my envelope system today, and i'll be pulling money out of the bank when i get to a cash point to last us the week.Still here..... but working on that!0 -

Good luck on your envelope system LSK. We have been using the envelope system for 3 months now and we think it's fab. We should have done it ages ago. Whatever is not used at the end of the month is either pooled together to pay off credit card or put into savings, or those that would potentially have big spends during the year are kept in the envelopes to build up, ie, holidays, car repairs and maintenance etc.
I hope the weather turns better today, and Mr. Sun will stop hiding. Have a great day, turtles!"There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150 -
Ah - extra rules. Okay, I shall do my best!
On my 2nd NSD. I will aim for the 20 instead of 15, then. Let's see what I can do.
Hope you don't mind, but instead of a local foodbank, I've donated £5 to the Red Cross appeal for the earthquake in Nepal. The situation there is so desperate.
We're also collecting tins for a foodbank at work, so I will contribute to that.Keep reading books!

wishus I donate once a month automatically to the Trussel Trust simple because before Christmas I saw one of *those* unicef adverts about poverty and starvation and so on. It tugged my heart strings, as they are meant to do. But it shocked me completely rigid when at the end there was a young girl talking about it happening in the UK. The advert was designed to make money for our country. Our first world, democratic country without a civil war or anything else particularly going on to hamper the way people can look after themselves.
I think at the end of the day a donation should be something from your heart, given to somewhere you think it will make the most difference. Sometimes charity starts at home too. If you are going without new shoes because you *can't afford it* then frankly you are the one in need of your own charity and you should not feel bad for contributing to keeping yourself afloat, with clothes on your back.
No-one should have to disclose amounts or give reasoning for their charitable efforts. Just know you are doing all you can for what matters to you.
Anyways, my trainers gave up the ghost. I stepped in a puddle and despite it not being up to my middle I have one soaked foot. I looked at the bottom and I have an actual hole, I could see the underside of the very insides of my trainer. So.. frugality hit a brick wall. Those who read my diary know that not too long ago I bought not one but 2 pairs of ugly but hopefully waterproof trainers. For £5.99 each reduced from something ridiculous. Trainers for teenagers and I rocked them because they were cheap and I was saving money. No more. I went through each in a matter of a couple of months. That old saying about some things being worth spending on and you get what you pay for.. that applies. These are the only pair of feet I have got and I have enough trouble, so I went and got expert help and fitting and came out with some specialist trainers designed for heavy wear, with added support and comfort and not too garish a colour. They inspire me, and despite costing £60 which is more than I have spent on trainers in at least 15 years by... £30 minimum, I am happy. I shall walk more because of them and they are good for running when I finally get back to it!
So, another SFD ruined. Bought milk since it was ruined anyway and should now get a good run.
Also my H&B order turned up and they had not filled the specialist packaging around the glass jars of coconut oil with air. Cue a smashed to smithereens jar, a sliced open bag of macadamia nuts and glass and nuts everywhere. I called them as the courier also left it outside my front door in a very shifty building. They apologised, replaced the order for free leaving me with doubles in a lot of things, and have put a note saying signature required. Good customer service!
Have a good day all. I am off to try not t get blown away whilst on the school run! xxx
