    Many thanks. Got offered 60% off plus £100 credit.

    But I went for line rental and unlimited broadband plus working sky plus box and 240 channels (11 HD) for £16.40 for 12 months.

    Read your notification email carefully. They are trying to "automatically move" me to a package that costs £4 extra a month, despite the fact we never use our landline. Make sure you log into your account and specify the Sky Pay As You Talk standard package if you don't need the "benefits" of the Evening and Weekends Extra package.

    "All our packages are changing and from 1 December 2015, your current Sky Talk package will no longer be available. To make things as easy as possible we'll then automatically move you to Sky Talk Evenings and Weekends Extra, which we believe will give you great value from your subscription and means you'll keep all your current inclusive features plus much, much more.
    To help make sure this package is right for you and to give you the chance to try out its new benefits, we'll give it to you at no extra cost for one month. After that, the standard price will be £4 a month, which is the lowest of any major landline provider for inclusive evening and weekend calls to UK mobiles*. "
  • Hmm, I called twice this week to ask about the changes and on both occasions they said customers still in contract would be moved to a 'new equivalent package' and not be charged any extra until the contract term is up. Letter received today states otherwise, which I assume is correct.

    I've not had an email from them yet.

    Looking at my upcoming subscription costs though, they are either keeping me on free weekend calls or switching me to pay as you go.

    Not good if that's the case.

    I'll see if my parents receive a letter about the increase. They're currently on Anytime at £5pm so if this is correct it would go up to £8pm from 1st January. My Mum uses the phone a lot so needs Anytime so that's quite a hike.

    I suppose it means I don't need to get onto her if she uses Sky to phone a mobile now as she would forget to use her mobile which is PAYG anyway.

    I was considering coming back to Sky but would rather have had the old Anytime package. May just go with the E&W and use the 1000 inclusive minutes I have on my mobile anyway for daytime use.

    My father's subs jump from the 8th January bill with Sky Talk going from £5pm to £8pm so it certainly looks like this is what is happening. One month on the old price and then up after that. His billing is from 22nd to 21st of the month.

    I suppose they could move but with others doing Anytime for £6/£8 with no mobiles it's not going to be worth it.

  • My Sky Talk Terms and Conditions (from June 2015) reads:

    8.2 You can only end this Contract during your Minimum Term(s) if:
    (a) you are exercising your statutory right to cancel as set out in ‘Your Right to Cancel Your Order’
    (see below);
    (b) Conditions 5.4, 8.4 or 12.2 apply;
    (c) we increase:
    i the monthly subscription price of your Sky Talk Calls package or Sky Line Rental service;
    or
    ii any other price in relation to a Sky Talk Service which is to your material disadvantage,
    unless Condition 5.2 applies;

    5.2 We may also increase the price of your Sky Talk Calls package or Line Rental service if required by law
    or if any regulatory authority requests or requires a change to any aspect of our pricing which
    affects you directly or our pricing structure generally, including to reflect a change in the rate of VAT
    or other applicable taxation charge or levy. We will use our reasonable endeavours to notify you
    before any price increase takes effect under this Condition 5.2.

    Does Sky's latest increase enable me to end the contract during my Minimum Term without penalty?
