    Update.
I went on live chat with Sky yesterday and have accepted their offer of 60% off plus a cash credit of £20.
I'll be paying £33.45 p.m. for Family Pack, Sports and Movies and HD.
This is for 12 months and a twelve month contract.
I could, possibly, have got a bigger cash credit, but I'm happy as it is. And need to leave a little for the next person....... :)

I'm surprised you had to sign up for a new contract unless you're getting a new Sky box?
At least you will have free repairs for 12 months.
  • Just came off a 12 month 60% off deal (with £50 credit) and got nowhere with Customer Services / Cancellations. Best i could get was 33% off for 10 months.

Cancelled and within 20 MINUTES (!) got offered 50% off for 12 months via mysky.

Live Chat and they couldn't do any more than that.

Left it another week, Live Chat this afternoon and was offered 60% off and £50 credit on account. Had a bit of a haggle and got that up to £100 credit.

More than happy and proof positive that it all depends on the advisor you get and how helpful they are feeling at the time!

It is more usual to have to make a 12 month commitment (everyone has a contract- which means agreement) , when you get a good offer.
  • i have given sky my 31 one day notice of cancellation and a week on first offer of 35% off has come through. not interested sky and given the palaver over the cancellation request. i am gonna need more of a tempting offer to stay.
  • Just phoned up retentions and quoted a Virgin deal that is going, not sure he could match it, but the guy didn't even offer any discount, and just accepted my 31 days notice.

I know i can ring up and cancel the cancel, but how long does it take for them to try and win me back??

Phoned up BT today to ask about the fee increase in BTsport. I signed up for BT Infinity so I could get the sport for free. 10 minutes on the phone got the infinity 2 package reduced by £5 and all the sport channels in HD for free. £13 a month saving.
Got my sky package down by £30 last month, though after reading some others on here think I should have pushed for a lot more. Something to bear in mind for next year!

Phoned Sky today to cancel as I'm moving and looking to start a new contract prob with virgin.

I'm on the variety package with multi room, Got offered family package with movies at 20%, half price multi room, free house move and installation of I start a new 12 month contract or the option to pay £25 and not start a contract but have all the offers.

I checked the new customers offers and if you use a top cash back link, you get £10 off the family package, over £100 cash back, £100 bonus (tesco, m&s, MasterCard and some different options).

Can't decide whether to start new contract (my husband can do this as I'm not allowed to hold an account for 12 months, I'm aware!), take the offer. Might try getting a credit if possible.

Seriously thinking of cancelling SKY as I never seem to use it much - I'm finding Netflix much better TBH. Will I still recieve BBC channels through my SKY dish one the subscription is turned off?

You will and a whole lot more. However you won't be able to record, live pause etc.
