TT are still advertising SIMS/mobile phones at the same (pre increase) price of "from £3.75 for SIMs" and "From £5 for phones"
Surely - they must stick to these prices, until the end of the contract / 12 months ?
Does this price hike only affect new customers - because they are still advertising BB at £5 per month for new and existing customers ...0 -
Hi, I signed up for a Youview TV box etc. in October 2014.
Am I correct that I can now break my contract as mentioned in the posts above and get a MAC code?
Do I need to return the Youview box, new router and line adaptors they supplied ?
If so, is it at their expense.
Cheers - Joe0 -
You don't really have a leg to stand on regarding the Fibre - at the end of the day you're choosing to move house, that's not under TT's control. They'd simply be obliged to provide their best non-fibre package.
That said, you shouldn't be losing any discounts as far as I'm aware
I don't mind losing the fibre, what I mean is that I don't want to have to carry on paying for the service because I'm in a contract, when the service is not available to me.0 -
In reality, the loss of inclusive calls to 0845 and 0870 numbers won't be missed.
Most organisations have moved to 0345 and 0370 numbers. These are inclusive calls from landlines and from mobiles.
Those that have not changed their number by 1 July 2015 will have to declare the applicable Service Charge everywhere their number is advertised from that date. Those that cannot justify imposing this additional charge on callers must change their number to one that does not impose a Service Charge.0 -

As you are moving house and losing fibre and may well start a new contract with TT for the move , i would consider paying off TT and start from fresh at the new house .0 -

You contracted to FTTC at the current address, not elsewhere, so if you choose to move to a property where it is not available, then the full ETC will be charged. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Not at all, because they are not fixed price contracts. TT has not signed up to the 'Fixed Means Fixed' pledge organised by Which? I believe only Three, Tesco \Mobile, Vodafone and Virgin Mobile have, so far.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Yes you can cancel. They will pay for the return of the box etc.0

I have a lot of discounts on my plan that I negotiated as a retention deal. The Home move guide on the Talktalk website says "Please note, any other promotions and offer won't be transferred to your new home". So my plan is going to go back up to full price when I move, is that right? If that's so, I think I have no choice but to cancel my contract under the guise of these price changes. The service is not worth full price. But I haven't received the price change notification yet!
Do you get a refund of any Value Line Rental you've paid in advance if you cancel in this way?
Has anyone else moved house and found they lost their discounts? Just wondering if I'm reading it right.
If you cancel contract they will want to bill you for the next 30 days anyway. So if you are definitely moving within the month just call them NOW and tell them you wish to cancel BECAUSE of the price rise.
you will then be billed as normal for next 30 days (so you will have service for next 30days), but thereafter they should refund any prepaid line rental and waive any early termination charge.0 -
What about advance value line rental? I received my email yesterday outlining changes but I paid line rental for 12 months in advance in March. If I leave will they repay my line rental (pro rata of course)?
Yes - thats what they told me. However, takes 30 days to close down account so you will still have service for the next 30days and refunded June 2015-March 2016 prepaid line rental0
