SSE broadband feedback

Can you explain what you mean here, as it doesn't sound like a reason to stay with a provider.
I'd it that sse don't provide you with an @sse email address and you currently have a @talktalk address, as if this is the case you could just continue using the talk talk one if they let you keep it, or just setup a Gmail one which includes loads of other free stuff?
Hi I've just left Talktalk (today) and most isp's allow you to keep your existing email address on their systems.
I suppose it's a way of them keeping you informed of their deals for the future if you want to go back.
SSE informed me that they dont do emails addresses when I signed up, I initially thought this was odd but seen as I was saving OVER 50% on my monthly costs I didnt phase me as I could easily sign up for a Google account, or even a Hotmail account.
In this case I will just keep my old TalkTalk email address...
Save all the aggravation of informing everyone.0 -
I had so many problems with Talktalk email. Thankfully I only used it once a month to read my billing statement but even then I had numerous outages with it.
Now is a good time to switch to something like Gmail and never again be restricted to your providers email system.
TBH I though TalkTalk were a good company.
The trouble was they kept changing the packages they run and eventually it became very confusing to choses the right deal
When I informed them I was leaving, they started off trying to get me to sign up to 'another' deal that would save me hundreds, give me speeds that only NASA can provide:j, and offer me 50 virgin brides...lol
But when you ask about the gritty details not all was as it seemed, in other words they were being economic with the truth...(no virgin brides):p
And lets be honest £21 per month for 70mb/s is very very good, as for TalkTalk email systems, again I never really had any problems, maybe a little slow sometimes but that's it.
Your not wrong about a generic provider such as Gmail, It's just something I never got around to set up.0 -

Here are speed test results (from various speed testers) from first thing this morning to about 15 minutes ago. This will be updated into the evening and add more results will be added to that page:

I tried ringing SSE today Three times.
One time I was on hold for 7 minutes after selecting the new customer option. I'm not sure that is a very good sign and easier to go elsewhere.0 -

The router seems fine. I've been at work most of the day, so have had a limited time to try it. No dropouts I have noticed - speed dropped off a little but nothing of any concern.
I need to wait until my family start streaming TV programmes to see how well it copes!0 -

I got through easily this morning.
They told me they did do traffic management and there is a section in the T&C's I could read.
Only openreach lines are recognized by their website checker.
They don't do line rental saver.
I looked at Santander 123 cashback and I don't think they do SSE broadband 3% cashback.. Or maybe I would get 2% if they think it's energy? Anyone know?0 -
I wouldn't sign up, speed in the day is ok but at night its shocking, this was mine the other night , a 1gb file took over 3 hours to download, the wife is now biting my ear, 2 hours to downoad a 30 min hd program off the sky box, used to take 10 mins before with bt, im on the "Ultrafast" package
you tube buffers, amazon wont play in hd only sd because its so slow at night0 -
