Hi all
Been here in spirit if not body this week. Have had dentist, psychologist, school and hair appointments plus paid stuff at both jobs and voluntary work this week. Phew. I have been getting up at 6.15am and spending 45 minutes doing a bit of the basics every day though and it has really made a difference.
Going to have an hour or so just hoovering and tidying here and there now while everyone is out.
Ouch - breastfeeding - well done on keeping going Mrs MPs DD. I gave up with my DS because I had a lot of medical problems after the birth and didnt get any help from the midwives.
Right, if I stay here for much longer I wont move.0 -

Thank you pigpen, it was a feeding adviser she went to see today, he's latching on properly now he's had his tongue sorted but I think because he wasn't getting it right then and she's been expressing and giving him it in bottles before he had the tongue done when he wasn't able to suck properly now she's just got so sore. They've suggested she goes back to expressing till the soreness goes but she's not sure if that will help or get him used to having a bottle.
I've emailed her the info about the cream. Thanks for the advice it is really helpful.
JTTOU, thank you for your pm, really helpful as well.SPC~12 ot 124

No it won't help at all. It might be ok once or twice a day for a few days but it is the worst thing to do if she can manage to feed straight from the source
Having had a bottle previously may be part of the problem, the way they suck from a bottle is totally different but he will get used to it.
It WILL settle but it does take up to 6 weeks to get into a routine and for soreness to settle. There are also growth spurt at 2, 4 and 6 weeks and every 4-6 weeks thereafter. You just start to think you can't continue and it all settles down again.
The thing to watch for is if baby develops oral thrush it can pass to nipples and is absolute agony.. the skin is pink and shiny and so incredibly sore you want to chop them off.. I've had it once and it was horrific.
In the broad scheme of things these sore weeks are a tiny fraction of time.. the thing that kept me going
Off to declutter a cuppa, some hayfever meds and some ice cream.. then decluttering myself to bed!. this is unheard of!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Busy here today. Managed to do DD room too as we had a little tidy. Then we did jigsaws until school run. We had picnic in the conservatory and built the last of DS birthday lego - from end Jan, lol. I did the living room while they played, then we went to beavers and built a dragon from cardboard boxes. My team did the tail which is now in the boot of my car and needs covering in scales, lol. That's our job for Saturday.
Got the kiddies away to bed then I attacked the kitchen which was an absolute bombsite. I've done the clearing but not the cleaning, but it's a lot better than it was!
Tomorrow we have baby ballet, bit of shopping, and I want to finish the kitchen and do the dining room and hallway. Just going to check the weather forecast of as I'd like to get some towels washed and line dried if poss. Was glorious here today.
We bought a little scarecrow from home bargains earlier - looks very cute in our gardenBossymoo

Morning everyone.
Up early as I needed the loo so now DH has gone off to get petrol before work and will be too early to sign in!
Lovely day yesterday but busy. The St G day tea and poetry etc readings went well and I wasn't too nervous. I did about 8 poems! One time I'd have been shaking like a leaf! We had a late evening meal then I must have dozed off as it had been mega busy in ch shop a.m. as all ladies stuff reduced to £2!!
Off for a walk whilst it stays fine to declutter the one piece of cake I just "had" to eat yesterday - then I'm going to turn over the garden in several places before hitting the house and ironing pile!! (not literally!)
Have a good day everyone. Hugs where needed. xJuly 16 £95/£200

Morning
Beautiful morning, I feel shattered, roll on the weekend. DS is up and hobbling about. Had a chat last night about whether he should take a season out from cricket this year. He has wrecked his knee by playing too much and although its really sad because he is a very good cricketer he was really mature about it. Made me realise how much he is growing up.
One load of washing out, another just gone in. DW emptied, living room tidied. Need to go to L*dl on the way home from work so must make a list.
I have a to do list with about 15 or 16 little jobs on it, must knock some of them off today.
Have a good Friday everyone x0 -
Morning everyone. Yesterday I got the dailies done and the bedroom. Then had lunch with DD then shopping. Later went through to town to meet a friend.
Back of the house just needs the walls painting now. Outside paintwork been washed down and windows cleaned. DGS2 is going to paint the walls.
Today Im at my voluntary job. Should manage to get some bits done before I go.0
