Not my most productive day ever but very busy and enjoyable. First deliver birthday pressie to a friend, cuppa and a catch up with her. Then round mils to do cleaning nip home throw DH a jacket pot in and nip to work, fit two jobs in there, back home make sure the boys had remembered their keys, nip shops back to mil as there was something I needed to talk about. Back home grab a coffee catch up on iPad. I'd forgotten ds1 is at a concert in notts tonight so I've missed him as he was gone by the time I got back from mils
So quick s&s round everywhere washing in and fold and another load out and tea is almost ready.
Funny how the less time I have to waste the more organised I'm getting
Hope everyone had a good day
Going to serve tea now then need to do my time sheet for today, ring dd2 and a few rows of knitting if I don't fall asleep.SPC~12 ot 124

Oh dear dusty, one of those days x
I'm finished too, frizzle x
Much more peaceful day today, and being at home I got a wash out on the whirligig, but have eaten crap
After work I collected kiddies, MIL took DD swimming so I made tea, in shifts as DS and FIL were hungry so we ate while the others were out. Also cleaned downstairs loo inc floor - it needed it!
ILs gone (and taken some ironing :A), I've sorted kiddies, story and away to bed, put some more clothes away and generally tidied upstairs.
Tomorrow I shall fly-proper! Need to pop up to town briefly in the morning, but then I'm "on it like a car bonnet" as they say!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Frizzle and Mrs-mp, I am worn out just reading what you did
Lamewolf, I am exceedingly glad that you are still with us
My plans for the day went to pot at 11:00 when my friend phoned to say that she was being taken back into hospital as an emergency. Hopefully she will only be in for a couple of days if the procedure she needs goes according to plan.
The first batch of cakes I made (6 eggs' worth of coffee sponge sandwich layers) went into the bin because I did an all-in-one mix but forgot to add the extra baking powder, consequently they are rather flat and dense. Well, not quite into the bin, just the freezer - I can't afford to throw away good ingredients. We've got a Bring-and-Share Pudding Party in 3 weeks' time: has anyone got a foolproof recipe for a pudding that uses a layer of coffee sponge for the base, preferable soaked in something tasty to break it down and hide the fact that it is somewhat solid? Layered tiramisu trifle or coffee mocha gateau anyone?
I have now made a second, more successful, batch...
I did manage to clean the bathroom and do the washing this morning, also dealt with paperwork and phonecalls, before spending 3 hours at the hospital, waiting until my friend was transferred to a ward. However, I have not made it to the election hustings this evening
Now I've got to finish off the cakes to take with me to DS2 and DDiL2 tomorrow, and make up our bed before falling into it.
See you sometime tomorrow x0 -
Evening all
Mum was in better spirts than of late which was a relief
Bloods show my ferratin, folate and B12 have all slid or are sliding back down (explains my total lack of GUAG) so going back on the supplements which will take a while but should work.
Washed the bathroom floor.
Going to lock neighbours cat in for the night and have an early night. I'll do the list when I get back or I'll forget again. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Tried to fit in some flying tonight so I won't have as much to do tomorrow, although already thinking of extra jobs that are not on my list. I am soaking fruit for a fruit tea loaf. Can't remember who shared the recipe, but it's a delia one so hopefully it will turn out nice and I have enough peel, nuts and fruit to make another ne if it's nice. I'm planning to make it in the morning so I will let you know!!

Good news on both those. Hope your week improves. How is DS about work/college this week?Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
1 load washing on line before work.
Greenhouse checked ditto.
Lots of uni work today.
During the few gaps, I managed to do some of the reading for my online course so I'm not behind now, having started late. It isn't very demanding but would be time consuming if I read all the forum comments (nothing new then) - it is a very international course it seems, with participants from far and wide.
Didn't achieve much when I got home - couple of surveys to book in
veg and greenhouse checked again
printed off some cycle routes from the area we're staying in next week as there are several flattish off-road cycle tracks which would be nice. I'm not a great cyclist but I think we would enjoy it now neither of us ride horses much. There are stables near our tree-house, but I'm not sure Mr N is quite up to it. He plans to ride a friend's horse at the weekend and see how he manages.
Tomorrow I've got students 10-3pm so must take swimming stuff and drop in on the way home. My exercise routine has gone to pot yet again with mum being up, so goodness knows what clothes I'll fit for next week's holidayRemember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
