  • Morning everyone - thanks for the washing up bowl tip Lynne - it worked well. My new bowl was a Mr T £2 one and is perfect!

Just off for a long walk as it is lovely here today too. Did my back in gardening last evening so need to stretch it out!

HB thanks for the reminder - I too had said I'd sp clean one room a month and have forgotten where I have got to - did bathroom this month so will start from April I think!

Will do a quick dash round with the hoover when I get back from my walk - but off to the museum for vol job this afternoon - via a trip to Freeport with d sis!!

Your renovations sound extensive but exciting Elastic.

Have a good day everyone. x

    Morning all

Another glorious day here, but my garden is beginning to suffer through the lack of rain (or even a good dew) - we're on sandy soil and it dries out very quickly.

I've not had a particularly good night and woken up a bit muzzy headed. Woke up in a sweat at about 01:15 but even managed to get off to sleep again, then woke at 7:00 having had an unusually vivid dream (I rarely remember my dreams). Anyway, have had my first cuppa and my head is clearing now.

Need to crack on today. In some sort of order:
    - [STRIKE]decide what I'm cooking to take to DS2 and family for lunch tomorrow[/STRIKE] [decided on SC pulled pork plus coffee cake and fruit loaf]
    - [STRIKE]defrost pork joint in a bowl of cold water[/STRIKE] [started]
    - strip our bed and change bathmats
    - WMx2 or even x3
    - breakfast, shower and dress
    - type up 3 documents and email them to various people
    - post bookmarks from WDYTYA and Sainsbugs tokens to DGS1+2
    - update NT expenses
    - bake cakes, including 3 more for the model railway club show
    - clean kitchen, including floor, oven and window
    - clean bathroom, including floor, mirror and window
    - around midday, put defrosted pork in SC for 8 hours and box it up when we come home this evening
    - visit my friend this afternoon
    - replant some perennials that I need to move to another part of the back garden - and remember to keep them watered while this heatwave lasts
    - charge camera ready for tomorrow
    - phone DS2
    - go to election hustings this evening
Best get started very soon, then!

Would like DH's help with the hoovering and steam mopping, but he claims that he has got a lot to prepare for the show. His group is exhibiting a layout on an ironing board - narrow gauge "iron works", not the Flying Scotsman!

Jazee, I hope your back is better this morning.

Hope everyone has a good day x

    Morning all xx

FLUFF... I need to replace the innards in my loo cistern.. it is on 'constaflush' That means taking OH to B&Q or similar... that means we (HE!!) wants to buy everything, he's after a pressure washer next.. he really should start a gardening business, he loves it and has all the gear, bar the pressure washer!!

Going to bed 2 hours earlier meant I was awake an hour earlier and am still exhausted, :(

No appointments planned for today though we had 1 hour and 40 minutes warning of an orthotist appointment for Moomin shoe raise. Saves us going next Tuesday!!

Dot behaviour is getting worse by the day, she has forgotten all her manners, lost her volume control and constantly. and I mean constantly yaps like a dog you just trod on.. occasionally she will pop out a yodel but I have lost patience already! I can't decide if it is normal behaviour and she is just beastly or if it is an issue. I need an outside opinion I think. I am aware she is bored half daft but that is less of a reason for her to be even worse when we try to do anything with her.

Plan for today : Stay awake!

    Morning lovelies

I'm on my mobile and on the New look forum so can't find anything lol stoopid tablet won't charge so I'm stuck with this till I get it sorted.

Beautifully sunny today which should make my drive to work very pleasant as I'm on the coast. Might cheer me the hell up too lol

House is one big hacky mess and I have no inclination to do it, I need a cleaner lol xx

    Been for my walk
Wasted time working out why DS3's bus fare has increased £8.50 per month!
Wasted time seeing what the rest of the world think about my awful MP on twitter
    Had a cuppa
Remved 2 kittens from dining room chairs
Removed black cat from LR sofa
    Fed neighbours cat
    Hoovered LR and hallway
Ansered a wrong number on my mobil

Productive or what. Need to finish the hoovering downstairs, mop the floors, have lunch and go to Mum's via the GP, ready for a depressing 4 hours.

I'm afraid Flying in the Wolf's Lair is going to be strictly on a what's-necessary-for-hygiene-purposes til 9th May.

I have two lovely, lively Cocker Spaniels here til then, (they arrived yesterday) and it's clear they are going to be taking up most of my time and all my energy.

They're very sweet; Charlie (black) is 10 years old, and Harvey (described as "blue roan") is 8; they'll walk all day given the opportunity (officially they have 4 walks per day), have to be fed apart because Harvey is a delicate eater and Charlie's a greedy pig, and there's always one or the other wanting a cuddle!

Posting may also be sporadic too - I'm still battling with a slow netbook, and sitting up at the pc is just so uncomfortable, I don't want to spend any more time doing it than is strictly necessary.

    However, I aiten't dead!:rotfl:

    Your day sounds inspiring, Dusty!

Still working on the kitchen, working off energy, thinking about getting a puppy which I always swore I wouldn't do. That's what comes of washing ceilings.

Just got the drawers left to do and the whole room has been sprung. They're not bad because I turn one out occasionally just for something to do when I'm waiting in the kitchen.

That's quite an achievement for me so I'm rather chuffed and very grateful for all people MSE, the most supportive group I've ever come across.
    Better is good enough.

    Afternoon all

JTTOU - pleased the washing up bowl worked for you. It's only taken me until last year to realise it was better
embb - hope you feeling a bit more cheerful now
    Dusty - (hugs)
LW - the cocker spaniels sound great - they are one of my favourites
    HB - well done :T

I have managed to keep the kitchen tidy (ex the floor) and did some dusting. Rest of time was doing paperwork and sorting bank accounts.

Managed to sit outside in the sun for an hour, which was lovely, until the tide turned and it became rather chilly.
