Well received my provisional award and noticed last year figure was incorrect . I rang them to say that was not figure I have them on my renewal and the chap said that can take up to 8 weeks . He then said no sorry I'm your case it's 10 weeks as head office as dealing with my renewal . I've had no letters for extra information . Anybody else had this ?

Hi Zagfles - I have had to come back on here with a different user name as I forgot my last p/word DOH! this is in effect my 4th post. I posted under M1964for re: pensions contributions not being taken into account. Today I received my renewal, as expected they have not taken into account my hubbies pension contributions as it is not a proper company pension & it is with Royal London . I tried to phone but to no avail so have signed on via experian. I am now waiting with baited breath to see if they take any notice. The problem I find is that they don't ask specifically why you are wanting to decrease the figure they got from the RTI. I expect it will just be ignored and in 8 weeks time the final figures will be the same! Will get back and let you know what's the outcome.

They wouldn't be able to take it into account in advance because they wouldn't know the figure.
With income tax for the tax code they seem to assume what you contributed last year you'll contribute this year as well, unless you tell them differently. Tax credits seem to assume you'll contribute zero whatever you contributed last year. HMRC don't seem to act consistently!

I'd have thought they'd be able to build pension contributions into the RTI system, after all the pension company have your NINO and claim tax relief off HMRC. Or do HMRC just pay the tax relief to pension companies without taking any record of the customer who is getting the relief?

Hi Blonde Bubbles - as I said it was to be expected. This employer doesn't operate like his previous company who had their own pension with trustees, they also seem to begrudge pensions and have given no pay rises for a while as they give the excuse they are having to fund these pensions and give the bare minimum allowed. As Zagfles said why can't HMRC marry up the NINO information, they did say on the renewal that the figures they had were up to the 19th May, the last pension amount left his account at the beginning of April. I did actually air my grievance concerning this when I was asked to rate the GOV.UK website.

Thanks Blondebubbles - I am also pointing out that there are 2 systems in place and if we were under the system with his previous company (made redundant - which was how I spotted this flaw) then we wouldn't have to go through this procedure. Public service, NHS, large companies with their own pensions etc. don't have to do this plus last year we were getting conflicting info from the Tax Credits helpline once we were lucky to get through, they insisted that all P60's showed a figure with pension deducted.

Hi can someone help, I applied a recieved WTC with disability element last year. What do I need to do this year? Will i get a form? Does it just continue? Also my last 2 payments have been half of what they normally are is this just because of the end of the year? I'm so stessed and worried and cannot get through on the phone.
    Thanks
