I also have a question about pension.

OH salary is £27,864 plus he gets London Weighting and L/Weighting Enhancement in total £30,084. His P60 figure this year was £29,700 (roughly), he pays into a company pension which is roughly £120 a month.

So is the P60 figure right? Is the P60 figure with the pension contribution taken off or not?

    I'm finding it very confusing.

    Thanks for any replies.

As explained to smileymum, it depends if the pension is deducted from gross or net pay.

If deducted from gross pay then it's already taken into account on the P60.

    May's payslip says:

    Payments 2362.83

    Deductions: 611.93 (Tax 295.80, NI 202.90 and Pension 113.23)

    Underneath says:

    Cumulative

    Total Gross 4877.65
    Taxable Gross 4877.65

What is your tax code? Post April's payslip details as well to confirm.

It looks like it's taken from net but need above to confirm.
  • I tried to renew online, but had to verify my identity.
I couldn't remember all my details. so it wouldn't allow me to do it online!
Did it by post in the end.

    Thanks!

    April:
    Payments 2514.82

    Deductions: 667.88 (Tax £326, NI £221.14, Pension 120.74)

    Cumulatives:

    Total Gross 2514.82
    Taxable Gross 2514.82
    Tax paid 326.00
    Employees NI 221.14
    Employers NI 253.76
    Stak'able Gross 2322.00
    Ees Pension 120.74
    Ers Pension 464.40

I've always given the figure on the P60 thinking this is what he earned with pension taken off.

blonde bubbles - thank you for including that info in post 268. I received a TC603R with nothing to complete and my renewal notes were only 4 pages long so hadn't included anything about pensions. I am getting ready to phone them now. Hoping I get through!

Just got through and sorted! Spoke to a lovely pleasant lady at the other end of the line. Told me that I should get my finalised paperwork through by no later than 30th June. Looking forward to the gorgeous weather today now.

I have just phoned re FE info i sent in over 2 weeks ago. was told they had received it but they have 1000s which they haven't started going through yet and can't give me a date for it being resolved, but my tax credits won't stop whilst they are dealing with backlog.
