It;s not only rude, it's arrogant and sends a message to whoever they;re with that they;re actually of very little importance.

It's even worse when the person is texting or checking their phone all the time they are with you but, when you call them, it takes them half a day to respond to you. :(

Well I'm back in the dark ages with mobiles generally. For me, their main use is for emergency as in car breakdown. The main reason for using it lately was that it seemed better than giving out the landline.

I'm the same as you, only close family and 2 close friends have my mobile number for emergency use only!
Here's a tip . for 'gentlemen callers' for safety don't give them any phone numbers initially, get theirs and call them as and when and ensure your number can't be displayed.
Used to work very well in the 'olden days' ;)

Although it doesn't sound it, I'm not much into texting. I'm hopeless and very slow! Unlike someone I used to work with. She'd be receiving and sending messages from/to her mates the whole time - both at work and socially. Personally I think it's quite rude if you are out with someone and they spend half their time checking their 'phones and texting.

He needs to accept that you'll reply in your own time. As mentioned, I do this and so does a friend of mine. Sometimes, I'll get an instant reply and sometimes, he'll take a few hours, or maybe even longer. I couldn't care less.

As for being out with people and checking your phone - again, I find that rude. I've done that before. But it's because of things like I need to check when my train is. Or the person I've been with, has done it because he's had to tell his wife he's on his way home now.

I once awoke to 29 texts from the same girl who I'd said no to dating. This despite giving a frank and honest answer that she wasn't my type because she was acting in an immature emotional manner and was immediately possessive after a single date.

Those 29 texts while I was fast asleep were going to certainly convince me to alter my opinion right.....?
