I was going to try and think up another two lines, including something witty about bubbles (as per the original spirit level mention, tying in the seasonal references to Christmas drinks). Couldn't work out how to make it not sound like it was about flatulence though :rotfl:
A flatulence level, to go with the builder's bum.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Had a really busy day with friends visiting. They were accompanied by their two youngest children (18 mth and 3) their dog and their puppy.
Lunch was a success, I was'nt sure that what I was cooking would be to the chidren's taste so they had chicken casserole followed by jelly and icecream. This proved popular, but not as popular as smoked salmon pate with cucumber.I would'nt want to be around the little one's nappy anytime soon. It is amazing how you forget that part of child rearing.
Post main course but before pud we went to the park in the woods and had a lovely time. Children, dogs and me all tired out.
They left about 6.30pm and I was in bed by 7.30pm. Have just got up as I am wide awake now. Need to google "how to get highlighter pen off upholstery". Neon pink on two cream sofas.
Their dad kindly offered to pay for the damage, but it is fine, the sofas have had wear and tear, but are usually adorned by throws. I am sure it will clean up and cannot get worked up about it.
I need to sleep well tonight as we will be out tomorrow night, so hope to settle down soon. Uncharacteristically our savage cat got into bed with me and cuddled up, it was rather sweet. A once in 14 years event, I am more used to her taking lumps out of me.
Gen thanks for the observation about the dryness of the ingredients. That was the sort of input I was hoping for.
I was making Paella as a main party dish for saturday, but do not have a large enough Paella pan so am rethinking, want somthing people can eat easily and help themselves to. Lamb tagine or beef in beer are possibilities. Nothing with christmas associations. Need to cook enough for about 15 people, there will be vegetarian dishes on offer as well but would welcome a vege casserole suggestion.0 -

Vegetarian casserole? How about vegetable tagine? Substitute the meat with aubergine. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I have absolutely no clue what we're having for dinner tonight....I don't feel remotely in the mood for cooking anyway
It needs to be something that will go with sprouts and carrots.
N.B. I'm not asking for suggestions, just having a whinge0 -

I know just where you are coming from - normally I shop a weeks worth of meals and just have to decide what order to have them in but what with being off work and the bank holidays each day seems to need a plan and possibly some shopping plus having eaten so much of late it is hard to summon up the energy for food....I think....0 -
The power switch has broken again on our hoover and by chance I just found a spare switch I bought a few years ago when it last broke but then lost before I fitted it and so had bought and fitted a second replacement. For some reason although today is 'tax return day' I am just thinking perhaps I should fix the hoover first, normally a job I would find any excuse to put off.
(Don't worry, we do still hoover it is just a two person job at the moment, one to hold the switch down whilst the other person uses the sucky hose as normal.)I think....0 -

Before it gets too late and I fall asleep, have a good new year!💙💛 💔0
