DS1 is working this week. Originally it was agreed that he could work from home, somehow he now is required to go into London. I'm not quite sure why as he has been accessing emails every day and could do the work from here.

Thanks for the lovely videos, Maggie :T

PN Boudoir sponges are those crunchy sponge fingers that are often used to make trifles as they go soft when soaked in sherry or whatever :)

CK I expect it's too late now to wish you good luck, but good luck anyway!

DS has gone to work today and will be tomorrow, but has NYE off as well as NYD.

We ordered a new vacuum cleaner on Boxing Day, on Click & Collect from JL at Bluewater. When we were in the paper shop yesterday I had a text to say it was ready for collection, so we thought we might as well give it a go, but changed our minds when we saw the queues on the A2  We'll try again today.

We went to Pets at Home and bought DCat a new bed instead. When we got home I inverted the new bed and put it inside the old one, so that by the time he needed to use it it had his scent on it. He did stand for a few minutes with three legs in it and one on the floor, looking very suspicious :rotfl:

After sitting in traffic jams for too much of yesterday, not looking forward to more driving today.

Seeing some friends I've been mates with for 50 years. We only usually get to meet up this time of the year.

    Where did the time go?

Madly packing but have to keep stopping as my back can only take so much at a time of being upright. So far have done a bag of dirty washing and the main suitcase. I think next job will be to take the outside lights down.

Some observations from DS1 on his first proper Xmas age 21.

    1. They do stuff that none of them enjoy just because it's Xmas eg pantomime trip without kids
    2. Never has he seen so many presents at any one time.
    3. Everyone drinks, continually, every day, from morning to night.
    4. Apart from GF's mother going off to church once, no one does anything religious at all.
    5. They made him most welcome.

I've never known anybody go to church.

I think, Xmas is all about chocolate Santas for the majority of people.

I've never known anybody go to church. Although, once, I did go to a Xmas Eve evening service, locally, just because my sibling/BIL were visiting and it was somewhere to go out to .... before going for a drink.

I thought there were lots who like me go once a year. We had some guests yesterday, DW, who didn't grow up here and only really knows my family at xmas, was amazed at how much 'normal people drink.
    I think....
