I have absolutely no clue what we're having for dinner tonight....I don't feel remotely in the mood for cooking anyway :(

It needs to be something that will go with sprouts and carrots.

N.B. I'm not asking for suggestions, just having a whinge :o:D

What about just having sprouts and carrots for supper?

I'd do that, using a teaspoon of instant gravy to make up some gravy for it.

Given the cost of sprouts and carrots in the UK I'd be inclined to chuck them in the compost and have something nicer. Life's too short to eat badly.

I made southern fried (baked) chicken tonight. Not bad. I can see where I [STRIKE]went wrong[/STRIKE] didn't think things through as well as I could have in the first instance. The basic flavours were pretty good though.

We watched the Sydney childrens' fireworks with the Generalissimos on the TV. We have two lots of fireworks on the harbour, one for the kids at 9pm and one at midnight. It's great for middle-aged parents that have no interest in staying up late!

Curiously enough, I'm just having a plate of sprouts for lunch, served with a teaspoon of Dijon mustard on the side. And I was rather congratulating myself for eating well, for once! :)

I love sprouts... but not got round to buying a dozen of them. There were loads of bags of sprouts for sale, cheap, pre-Xmas.... but one does feel a bit of a plonker buying just 12 sprouts.... I figure the weight of the bag would be almost as much as the sprouts.

Having a round up of fresh veg, just as a "one off" and not bulk buying whole bags, one would just look such a twonk buying one smallish carrot and 12 sprouts. I only got about 4 on Xmas Day .... I'm used to having piles of them in a bowl on the table.

Cheers PasturesNew. I have a funny feeling that we're going to have a very good year Chez Generali in 2016.

    Time will tell.
